OJ Simpson... UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE

As disgusting as I think he is, it still shocks me that he would do this to his kids...continue to rub salt in the wound.

I agree and that was my first thought too, how could a dad do this to his kids? But then I remembered this "dad" butchered their mother in their front yard while they slept upstairs. The front door was open, after he fled they could have walked downstairs and been the ones to find their mom and Ron Goldman dead. What would he have done had they come down during the murders? I can only imagine. I think this animal stopped caring about his kids long ago. I hope those kids, now adults tell their dad where to go and how to get there and have nothing to do with him anymore. Not that he will care.

I know we all hate that this interview will take place but regardless of whether OJ is guilty or not in this country we have the right to free speech and freedom of the press (for the most part). If the Fox Network wan't going to cover it you know another network would so why shouldn't they go ahead and do it. The truth of the matter is for every 10 people in this country that say they aren't going to watch 20 probably will. People are naturally curious but that doesn't mean they believe OJ is innocent.

Just because you can and you have the right to doesn't mean you should. People use that as an excuse way too often in my book.

I don't know about that. 60 minutes turned it down, Barbara Walters was asked to conduct the interview and she said NO WAY. If Barbara was asked, I am sure their were other's that were asked, and ultimately, the interview is being conducted by the women who runs the publishing company putting out his book.

So, it looks like FOX is not being envied for snatching this gem.

I honestly don't believe this will be the ratings bonanza everyone is thinking. Sure, some people will turn it on, but MOST people won't. I don't believe out of every 10 people who won't, they'll be 20 that will. Reverse that. Actually, for every 10 people that DO watch it, there will be 40 that won't. How many people on this thread have said they won't watch it vs. how many have said they will?

FOX's biggest mistake is airing the interview. The 2nd biggest mistake is putting it on during sweeps. It is going to pull their numbers down. The numbers they bring in during sweeps pretty much determines what the can charge the sponsors.

I also wonder how many sponsors feel the same way 60 Minutes and Barbara Walters do, and plan on pulling their plug for the interview.

Well, I hope my mother in law watches it. She completely believes that he is 100% innocent! She drove me nuts during the whole court trial. I hope she will finally see what a horrible person he is and that she is wrong!

The local Fox station had a bit on about it last night during the evening news. I changed the station.

I don't want to see him and I don't want to hear him. Just like any other form of scum, it's not something you should choose to give any consideration to.

Also, even if he really didn't do it, what kind of person would write a bleeping book about how he would kill his wife??
That is where I'm stuck. Who in their right mind, innocent or guilty, writes a book about hypothetically killing their wife!? And to do this again to his kids. Why? I just don't get it.

I won't be watching. I really don't want to hear it. There is no way in heck I'd read the book.

I agree with you that this will not be a ratings bonanza for Fox, but will probably have the opposite effect. The murders, as others have expressed, were barbaric, and for OJ to even speak about "If I did It" and write a book shows he has no conscience or soul, or empathy. I mean it was his children's mother that was brutally murdered. The more I think about it, the more it sickens me. I really thought I couldn't feel more disgust or disdain towards him, but I do.

I am so tired of people using the "free speech" card to excuse every kind of disgusting, outrageous behavior! :sad2:

Is so does not surprise me that this will be shown on Rupert Murdoch's Fox Channel. Those of us in NY have seen for years how he relishes pushing the envelope in disgusting sensationalism within the pages of his daily rag The New York Post. The paper will most likely carry additional stories about it ad nauseaum to try to up the special's viewership. He is so sleazy!

I know but that's the double edged sword. In order for any of us to have free speech,we all must be able to exercise that right.
Also,I think the interview will have huge ratings. Many people say they won't watch it but many more will.

I don't like what OJ is doing anymore than anyone else but to say using the "free speech" card as it was put just goes against our constitutional rights. Maybe in some other countries if you just don't like someone or something you can change laws and take away a persons rights. As stated by the previous poster it most definatley is a double edged sword.
