I LOVED the Triple Zero Yogurt and so did my friends. We ate it every day at lunch in work sometimes twice a day. After a while I stated having digestive issues and unbeknownst to me, so did my friends. I was really suffering and thought I had IBS or was lactose intolerant judging from the symptoms or worse. Without knowing it, my two friends were also suffering the same issues. Just in passing one of them said she had become lactose intolerant and I said me too! The third one said me too and suddenly we put two and two together. Three people do not just become lactose intolerant at the same time. We looked at the common denominator and realized that it was OIKOS. After looking at the ingredients, we found out it has chicory in it which after research we realized was causing our problems. This is the same additive in Fiber One Bars which also cause the same problems. After stopping the Triple Zero we are all fine and have been for a couple of months. I loved Triple Zero, but I always thought that it was too good to be true especially in light of the advertisements that said it had no artificial sweeteners in it! I just wanted to let others know in case they too are suffering. We were all one step away from going to a gastroenterologist which I am betting would have lead to a ton of tests only to find out the same thing.

I also love the triple zero yogurt :( without getting into too much detail lol what kind of symptoms were you and your friends experiencing??

I can't eat one Fiber One bar without having a gurgling, horrible, painfully bubbly stomach. I imagine this yogurt would do the same. DH has one for breakfast every day with no problems. Guess my system just doesn't like chicory.

Thanks for the warning!

OMG, I just had the triple zero for breakfast this morning & have been dealing with bloating & a rumbling stomach all day!! Thank you for posting this. I will not be purchasing that again! Who knew?!

OP - not sure why you were eating Triple Zero but a quick comparison shows it does not have any fewer calories than the regular kind (give or take a few; depending on the flavour). Regular or low-fat doesn't have any fibre but since that's what is "messing you up", why not just try without it? FWIW - I absolutely LOVE Oikos - it's a pretty good use of 120 calories IMO. Glad to hear you're feeling better. :wave2:

I can't eat anything with chicory in it either. Chicory is sometimes listed in the ingredients as inulin, so look out for that as well.

I've never even heard of this ingredient. After having my gallbladder out many years ago, I've always had some intolerances to certain foods (cheese in particular).

What other foods have this ingredient in them?

It also has Stevia, which also causes problems for me. I loved the Triple Zero but it hated me.

Daily Oikos eater here and I actually never noticed this version before but since I've researched it a little, I'm hard-pressed to see the advantage. The regular is very similar in calories and protein. What is it about Triple Zero that makes it preferable?

You didn't ask me specifically but the Triple Zero is preferred in my house because it comes in actual flavors like banana cream and the salted caramel or something caramel (my husband's favorites) but still very low in sugar grams. Many other flavored yogurts are much higher in sugars.

I truly don't worry about what I eat, so I have no idea if it's "healthier" or what. I just really liked the taste. But, like the OP said, I was having digestive troubles after eating it so I stopped. A friend pointed out the ingredients. The only time I look at ingredients is to make sure it doesn't have strawberries, which I'm allergic to.

Thanks - I get what you're saying. I don't really count sugar grams, I just have an overall daily calorie plan. The flavour I like most is Coconut and it's got 22 grams of sugar per serving so that would be much more than the version with stevia.

I can't have dairy products anymore but when I did eat yogurt I watched the sugar grams because if there was more sugar than actual protein, I'd rather just eat a candy bar ;) My husband is big fan of "Eat This Not That" guide and that's how we got on counting sugar grams in food.

Haha - I heartily agree and on around 1,400 calories a day I can pretty much always spare 300 or so for candy! :mickeybar(ETA: Your DH's method is probably right though!)
