****OI Meetup**** -June 4-5, 2021

We are team lighthouse by technicalities lol but I am understanding you can do either side. I think we're going to do one park per night anyway so we can focus on specific things/foods each night. We'll see though! lol I just want to do it all

I am currently a little irritated that IOA does not have any early entry days while we are there for 8 days. They are only at Studios currently that week.... hoping they will change by the time we arrive.

Yes, you're right that once you're in you can go to either side. (As if I'm some expert. LOL) I don't have any particular strategy for the meet-up, but I feel like I should. Even though that flies against the main reason I love UO--no planning required! I just want to maximize our time/money/food so I feel like I shouldn't flit around willy-nilly.

Same IRT early entry. Hoping we still get lots of Hagrid & Velocicoaster opportunities since those are my priorities!

I haven’t shared the details of the event with my daughter. I can’t help but read up on everything, but she won’t know a thing going in. It’ll be so much fun to see her reaction when she sees the red carpet and I start handing her all the free food! Anyone want a churro?!

I’m just happy we have our own lines at the restaurants! When we hit the Dec meetup it was dark for most of our time there. We’ve only been during the meetup and I kept getting lost by Suessland. Never even saw the Jurassic area.

I’m giving up on Saturday waitlist and I think I’m going to get day tickets instead. 2 of the 4 will be getting APs anyways, and we’re staying at HRH so we have EP. I would really like to try to get on the velocicoaster

Aww man, that's not good! You'll have plenty of sunshine to start this one off and get acquainted with the areas! I once got lost at Animal Kingdom at Disney lol I kept walking in circles even though I swear I was following the signs! I finally gave up and was like HELP ME! lol

I still hope you manage to get in, you never know with last minute cancellations!

Did everyone enter the lottery for the flyers? I hope we get to go on them, last time we went with the kids, the little was big enough but it scared me because I would not be able to reach her if she freaked out. Now she's too tall at 11 lol so this will be the only way we get to ride. One day! lol

We have just 9 days til we leave for sunny Florida, not that is much different than where we live but it'll be for fun in the hot and not just miserable hot, right?? 13 more days til the meetup and we are so ready! I've watched all the videos I have found on the meetup, seeing how things changed etc. I wonder if the tribute store will open up before then? I'd love to check it out, but not sure how that's worked in the past. I was a little sad the VC isn't going to be available during the meetup but it sounds like tech rehearsals are still pretty consistent ongoing, so hopefully everyone will get a chance to ride between 4 and park close. Fingers crossed!

We registered for a chance at Pterandon Flyers. We don't have kids so have never had an opportunity to ride it on previous trips. I hope we get picked!

We leave for FL 1 week from today (we're doing 4 nights at WDW first)! Next week better go by quickly!

We also entered the PF lottery. We've ridden it once before when our kid was still small enough, but the line was ridic long and the ride seemed short so it wasn't our favorite. I'm kind of hopeful that we'll get picked so we can give it another shot, but if we don't no big deal.

I am glad we ended up getting daytime tix because that will incdrease our chances of riding VC! Gonna have to pace ourselves, though! 8 days until we leave for FL (we have 2 days in St. Augustine before we get to Orlando). Last week of work, baby!

So excited for everyone - can't believe meetup is almost here!

Team Lighthouse for me (I'm somehow always team lighthouse lol), AND I'm so stoked that my family will be coming to meetup for the first time this December!

Part of me wishes VC was open during meetup so folks would head there and the line for Hagrid's would be less crazy . Crazy is also super relative - I've never had an issue getting on it during meetups. Can't wait for another nighttime ride!

7 days til I leave for the start of this vacay. Let's go!!

On non meetup news - Hot butterbeer is now year round! YAY!!! I can't wait to try it and have it whenever I want!

This makes me so happy! This is our 5th trip to UO and we've NEVER had hot butterbeer because we never go in the winter. Can't wait to try it!

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but my favorite version of butterbeer is the butterbeer ice cream!

I had the frozen a lot when at USO last time, so my goal is to try all of them, regular, frozen, hot, fudge, and ice cream. I mean how can you go wrong with butterbeer everything?? Oh and I do plan to make a butterbeer float too!
