I got an email yesterday about the T-shirts on sale. Showed up in my gmail 'promotions' inbox.

Getting excited! We are going both weekends. Flying home (Kentucky) in between because of school, my daughter is a junior in three AP classes. Exam week is immediately after the second weekend meetup.

We are staying at Portofino Bay in a Deluxe 2 Queen the first weekend and finally after months of checking three/four times a day and calling, with two separate reservations, we are at Portofino Bay in a Bay View 2 Queen room. We have had reservations for one of the Docksides and Sapphire Falls and then a split stay between Sapphire and Portofio. I finally, last month, snagged a Portofino room for the Thursday we had a Sapphire Room for a Garden View not Bay View. Today, I was able to get a Bay View room and cancel the Garden View. My credit card company probably thinks I am very indecisve. Just took me six month to get the room and hotel I really wanted. OI rates are the only time I can halfway afford Portofino Bay. I also didn't want to have to checkout and recheck in because we had two different type rooms. I am so happy!

Have my lunch reservations made. Ordered our Meetup shirts. Love the design this time. I think it is very festive and fun. Working on an old fashioned paper countdown chain. Going to have one for each weekend.

Hoping the Velocicoaster makes the Hagrid's waits less.

I was glad I had long sleeves and jeans when I attended the December 2019 meetup (12/13 - 12/14). I had a lightweight jacket one night and just a long-sleeved shirt the other. It can certainly get a little chilly at night.

Manheim Steamroller concerts will be back on the 4, 5,11, and 12, so the Saturday meetup people should be able to see them. I also noticed the IOA hours for Dec 4 say closing at 9 now.

Were the closing times at IOA previously listed as 8:00 on Dec 4? The OI website still says Saturday park close is 8 pm. Wonder if that will also change the start of food/beverage service.

We are going Dec 3-6, planning 2 days at Universal, one day at VB, and one day at Busch Gardens. Was planning on Universal on the 3rd and 6th but wondering if I should change that. I'm assuming the meetup is just for season passholders?

The meetup is a separate ticketed event organized by Orlando Informer that allows them entry when the regular parks close for the evening..

meetup tickets allow entry at 5 PM so you may see an uptick then. I don't know what percentage of meetup people also have regular tickets, I have an AP so can go earlier but DH will be relying solely on his 5 PM entry. I might speculate the 3rd wouldn't be too bad before 5:00. It goes until 1:30 AM Saturday night so I would think the morning of the 5th should not be too crowded!

I would reach out to OI and ask to be added to the wait list. They’ll reach out to you directly with 24 hours to buy if anyone cancels.

It doesn’t sound like any additional tickets will be added, so you’d just be hoping for a cancellation.

No, they won't add anymore tickets but they might have a wait list for cancellations.
