OI December meet-up

The tickets went on-sale yesterday, and the website is now showing as sold out. Is that serious? I've gone once before and stalked the site a few times before that, and it's never come close to selling out that quickly! Before the day of the event, absolutely, even a couple months before, but never on day 1! Please tell me it's a glitch, an error, a premature shut-down of some kind...

Nope, it’s true. The tickets actually went on sale this morning at 10AM. OI totally hyped it up in their Facebook group. They had everyone chomping at the bit and it sold out in under an hour. Fact that there’s a new coaster in town didn’t hurt either. Well that and the fact that everyone is way overdue for a vacation.

I guess we are waiting for the next one! I was planning on buying tix but was on the road most of the day. Thought this would happen when I got a second text at 11am saying they were 95% sold out. Oh well...

it also didn't help that some tickets were already "presold" to folks who had tickets to last May's canceled meetup, but weren't ready to use the credit for last December or this June. I guess I should feel lucky that I managed to grab tickets for the first ever meetup for DH and myself, and a bay view king at PBR (at 60% off list price).

Ah yes the canceled tix. I bet that was a huge part of it. I suppose I should look on the bright side that I just saved almost $1600 for missing out for my family.

They are adding 2 more weekends. November 19&20 and December 3&4. Tickets go on sale April 26

Ugh. Unfortunately ods would still be in school or in the middle of finals these weekends. The only one that works for my family is the sold out weekend. I wish they released them all at the same time because I bet a lot of people who signed up for the 10/11 weekend might have preferred one of the other two. Now there’s no way to switch it around and we are out of luck

Based on the OI Team's responses to some posts, I think they ARE allowing some switching for current ticket holders and people who are on the waitlist for 10/11 could eventually get tickets. If you are not on the waitlist, it might be worth a shot!

You have to email them. I don't know if I'm allowed to post the email here or not, but if you go to the OI website and find the Meetup page, the email address is under the Contact tab.

Hadn`t been checking their site so wouldn`t have seen the second weekend added for December. We had tickets for last year, and of course couldn`t travel. But a lovely lady at OI informed us we could have them forwarded to this year if we could go. So, the first Dec weekend was after we would be leaving this year, but as soon as I saw your post I contacted them again and she said, yes, I`d get our re-issued tickets today when the are released for sale. Got this years tickets through half an hour ago.

So, thank you Erica.....with your post I was able to get our name down quickly for one of the nights......

Now hoping we can fly this year too......lol......

I'm so excited! I got tickets for the Dec 3/4th meetup! 1st time ever!

So stupid over asked question. But how chilly should I be prepared for it to be after dark? Like hoodie or light jacket chilly? Or dang I need a thick coat and gloves cold? I'm from missouri where its still not hot here yet lol

We`ve been the last 3 Decembers, excluding last year and some nights can get chilly once darkness hits.

Most of our evenings were fine and still hot, but the odd cool one surprised us just how cool it was. Hoodie was ok.

I`m a real lizard in Orlando and love the heat, so I was frozen when some thought mid 50`s was alright.......

We will be at the dec 3-4 meetup (both nights). I was pretty crushed the other dec one sold out so quickly, so when they announced the additional dates we made sure to be online right at 10 am. We were also able to book 5 nights at Royal Pacific which i am super excited about.

We were at last December's meetup, so if you have any questions, just ask. That was our first and we loved it.

As for temp, if you're used to MO winters, you'll be fine! I'm a cold wimp, and last winter was fairly chilly, but that meant 40s/50s at night. I wore a long sleeved t shirt and fleece and was ok. I used the temp as an excuse to drink lots of hot butterbeer. we often go to disney in dec and you never know how the temps will be - just check the weather before you leave home, and be prepared to layer.

It's nice that they re-issued last years. I had a ticket for Dec 2020 but couldn't travel either due to covid and was not given that option. They didn't care that I live with a vulnerable person. I'm assuming you are not based in the US?
