Ok, so I'm getting ready to wake up my dd4 to get ready for her first day at preschool! It's only for 2 and 1/2 hours but still, I'm nervous and excited for her.

She seems ready and excited. She is a little scared. Last night she kept saying "I don't wanna go!" while smiling.

Her cousin goes there too so I'm hoping that will help a little. They're also having a halloween party and class pictures today, so it won't be a typical day. I'm so hoping she doesn't get teary eyed when I leave. I don't know if I can handle that. I've still got those post partum hormones going on!

I'm not sure I'M ready for this! Old enough for school? Say it ain't so!

Wish us luck!;)

Just a warning, I think I cried the hardest when my dd came home all happy and excited for the next day.

I know, stupid, because I was so happy that she was happy, but it really hit me hard that she was ready to be "on her own"! In my mind, I practlically had her going to going to college!

Ahhhh:hug: Chances are she will be fine even if there are some tears on the first day. I've had that first day with four of my children and it's not easy. I used to tell my kids that I'd be home cleaning the toilet while they were at preschool. :rotfl: Kind of took the glamour away from what they were missing. Of course I really went out and had fun while they were gone, but they didn't need to know that. :teeth:

Be prepared to cry urself 2. The first day I dropped DS at preschool I sat in the parking lot and cried. We had never been apart and I felt very alone!! Mostly they cry till the moment u leave and then are fine.

Thanks for the reassurance guys!

The drop off went ok. She cried a bit and hid her head in my legs. But then one of the teachers came over and asked her to be the witch when the make the witches brew for the halloween party. That helped. She loves to help out.

It feels weird for me being home without her. I keep telling myself "get a grip woman!" it's 2 and 1/2 hours for pete's sake!

Oh I did! While walking out to the car. I just kept wondering how did time go so fast?

Geez I can't imagine what I'll be like when she goes to kindergarten.

I used to panic and look around for the "missing" child. I remember being in stores and having the awful feeling that I forgot them in the car. :rotfl: You'll get used to it and love the time, even though it is bittersweet. My oldest started college on the same day that my youngest went to kindergarten. How extremely emotional. I used to joke that when that day came I'd either need something to settle me down from the excitement I'd feel or I'd need anti-depressants. Turned out I had a pretty easy time with my youngest going to kindergarten (he's the most difficult of my 4 children), but I fell apart when my oldest went to college.

We're here to help them grow into independent people, but it sure is hard sometimes.

So true!

Ok well she loved it and keeps asking when she gets to go back. The teachers said she did well and jumped right in.

So yay! :yay: (But still secretly sad that she is growing up on me! :sad1: )
