Hi again...

You all were so helpful before I figure I will ask another question... Much easier this time :rotfl:

If I am taking I-77 to I-95 down, how close do we get to the ocean? We have never been to the ocean and I was wondering how far out of the way it is to make a quick stop to take a look and maybe put our toes in...

I see that we drive pretty close to the coast but I thought maybe someone would know exactly how close...

Thanks for any info... I hope this will be my last question but I can't promise! :confused3

When we hit the Daytona area you are only 15 minutes or so I believe. It wasn't far.

When you are in Orlando you are just 1 hour and 30 minutes from Atlantic Ocean and 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Gulf coast. We have visited both sides and loved our visit.
We plan our trip to Port Canaveral on a Sunday so we can see the Disney ship set sail, have a late lunch at FishLips which is right by the port where the Disney ship is. You can go out on their balcony and watch the boat pass by. Or go to Jetty park and watch the boat set sail from there & watch the turtles and mantee swim by.
When we go to the gulf coast we always visit HoneyMoon Island. It is a Florida state park and its right on the coast. It has tons and tons of shells, a nice bath house for changing into swim wear - it is very very clean. They have a cafe to grab lunch at. You can rent beach equipement also. Cost is $8 a car to get into the park. We prefer to go here on a hot day because its usually 10 degrees cooler on the coast than in Orlando.

We got off 95 near Flagler Beach and had lunch. It was a very quick & easy detour before heading into the Orlando area. Definitely worth the detour.

From Savannah (Tybee Island) to Daytona Beach, you are no more than 15 minutes from dipping your toes into the ocean. :goodvibes Anywhere along I-95, you can pull off the highway and travel east to see the waves. We drive from Ohio and on one trip, we drove all the way to Daytona and stayed for the night. We spent the morning on the beach and headed to Disney after lunch to arrive just in time for check-in. It is definitely an option. :thumbsup2
