Do any of you own at HH and if so do you drive there? How long does it take to get there.I'm inDayton?

Sue

I'd say it takes 15 hours. We are Vero owners that drive by HH and have stayed non-Disney at HH. Head down 35 till Charleston (actually Teays Valley) and then use the interstate till HH. Beautiful drive.

We live in Indiana, but only 35 miles from Cincinnati, so about the same as you in Dayton. We've driven it several times and counting brief stops for food, fuel, it's right at about 15 hours as everyone has mentioned.

We are HH DVC owners....we live in Fairfield, OH, north of Cincy. My parents live in Knoxville, TN, which is a 4 1/2 hour drive with 1 bathroom stop. The drive from Knoxville to HHI is 7 hours including a meal stop and a few other stops for gas and bathroom. So even if you factor in the extra time that a longer driving period takes...it is more like 13 hours and that is without killing yourself.

Our experience is more along the lines of baileybrad. We live in a suburb of Cleveland and I went to www.freetrip.com and plugged in my address and the HH address, according to their directions it took 12 hours. We stopped at a nasty Bob Evans somewhere in West Virginia for a late breakfast/early lunch and got a little lost looking for the resort (which cost us about 1/2 hour extra driving time) but we still ended up at the resort in about 13 hours.

Our home resort is HH and we love it there! Can't wait for our trip in November.

My DD has driven to HH twice. I think she was staying in the Sea Pines area. She said it took her 13 hrs both trips.

Bob is from the Ohio/West Virginia boarder area. We've always had wonderful meals there, let the company know if you are dissatisfied, they will work hard to fix it. Bob and his wife were at our wedding, and are family friends. Take out Bob Evans food makes a very nice meal for the DVC fridge, very easy to heat up, no real cooking mess, yet great food. We are looking forward to the one being built at Vero Beach being available.

We have been doing the HH drive from Akron since we purchased in Feb 98. We have it down to an 11 hour trip. We usually leave around 2:00am and drive straight through. The traffic is very light at that time of the morning and the kids will sleep about half the trip. Once they wake up we stop for a quick breakfast (I usually like Bob Evans) and then we will put Cinderella 2(just bought for this trip) in the VCR/TV. We should be eating a late lunch at the beach house and relaxing by the pool while we wait for our room.

Just 11 more days until we do this.

Whoops, my mistake. I said 15 hours. That's what it takes us to get to WDW.

To get to HH is more in the 12-13 hour range, depending on stops.

Another vote for 12 to 13 hours from the Cleveland area (including potty stops). We don't own at HH, but we did stay there once using a cash reservation. The resort was young and experiencing some growing pains, so we haven't been back since. We did stop by in 2001 on our annual drive down to WDW. We got a room in Hardeeville and then drove over to Hilton Head to do some shopping and to drop by the resort.

I didn't mean to make it sound like I was bashing Bob Evans. We love the Bob Evans chain! My husband and I are such regulars at our local Bob Evans, they don't even ask our name or party size anymore! Seriously, we eat there at least once a week for breakfast and that's why I was so surprised we had a bad meal. My fav is the farmer's breakfast. I also didn't realize there was an actual Bob Evans. I thought it was just a chain name. Anyway, thanks for the info and I guess I should have said something about our food and service at the time but I didn't. I guess I was just so shocked the food was bad. That is not our usual experience and I look forward to eating at BE this weekend (just like I did this past Saturday :D ).

We'll be looking for a BE on the way down to Hilton Head in November and I'm sure we'll have the great food and service we are used to!

Bob tends to eat in the restaraunt in Gallipolis, Ohio and Rio Grande. You can stop by Jewel Evans mill located between Rio Grande and Gallipolis on route 35.

We don't own there, but we did stay there in January on our way to Disney. It took 12 hours.
