I have never been to Ohanos, but have heard really good things up until about a month ago. I saw some posts about them getting rid of the shrimp. Is this true, has anyone been there recently. Also is it an all you can eat type place. ko

Hi. I'm sorry I can't answer your question about the shrimp, but Ohana's is an all you can eat type of restaurant. The food is served family style and you are able to request more of whatever you would like. This restaurant is a must do for my family.

im sorry ive never been to OHANOS but ive been to OHANA...They still have shrimp but it doesnt come out on skewers it comes out in a bowl in a sauce its peel and eat. and its pretty good

We were at O'Hana's in January and it was wonderful. We had been there several times in the past (it has become one of favorites) and were concerned about the changes, but it was excellent. Loved the new potatoes they served. JMHO Jay

I absolutely love 'Ohana. I loved the old menu & I love the new menu. When I went in Sept, when they first changed to the new menu I was disappointed. I decided to give it another shot, since it had been one of my favorite places to eat. So when we went in January, it was fabulous! I ate there three times during my stay. You should try it, some people still do not like it but I think it is a must do!

We went to Ohana the first time last October, after the change. The food was wonderful. I would rather have my shrimp on the skewers, but I'll take shrimp almost any way I can get them. The potatoes are amazing and so is the bananas foster bread pudding. It is brought to your table family style, but it's all you can eat. We can't wait to go back.

I've been to 'Ohana four times- three before the menu change and once after. The shrimp is still there, but in the form of an appetizer of peel and eat shrimp in a sticky sweet sauce, not grilled shrimp skewers. I do not enjoy 'Ohana's new menu changes and I will not be back until it changes again. I wasn't impressed with anything except the dessert, and of course the atmosphere and view. Yes, it is all you can eat, though many people have not eaten much either because they didn't like it or because they couldn't find their server.

We were only there after the menu changed, but for us it was a great meal. We will definitely return. The only thing that bothered me a little was that the service was a little rushed. But the food we really enjoyed, and our kids loved the atmosphere. :)

We were there on Wednesday night...shrimp is still there but not served on skewers anymore..still very good though.. We love Ohanas even with the change in menu!

Got back from WDW about a week ago, and loved the new menu! The only thing I miss is the bread. We had a group of about eight for the last seating and ate all the shrimp they had left (about three bowls total) because two of our guys got into an eating contest. We had mostly first-timers in our party and they really loved the place. Even our Disney-disliking friend loved 'Ohana's!

Ohana is a must do for fam every trip. We will be there March 26th for a 5:30PM ADR (Aloha)!

We expected the worst after reading a lot of negative replies on the board. We went to Ohana our first night and we loved it. The food was awesome, we really enjoyed the u-peel um shrimp and the wings were excellent. All of the food was really, really good. You do feel rushed with how fast they bring the food out, but we just went at our own pace. To top the night off, we got to see the fireworks from magic kingdom. How about that for a first night!! :cool1:

It is not one we would do again but each person can have a vastly different experience! I certainly didn't go away hungry. Appetizers, sides were good (except I didn't like the won tons). Meat was not good (according to both DH and myself). Dessert was yummy. Service was rushed and poor -- atmosphere was fun. Both good and bad reasons to go ... or stay away ... but always try once!

Many people hate the new menu at CRT but we had a great time there so just make a plan and don't change it based on reviews. Only cross it off the list if you go and have a bad time! There are just soooo many places to eat!!!

PS: as you heard, the shrimp is peel and eat - I liked it alot!

We ate there Tuesday and had a great experience. We found the service good and the food delicious. We also ate there in January and were a bit disappointed with the service. :sad1: Depends on your servers! The meat is good if you like steak rare and we do! We always get the Lapu Lapu drink in a pineapple too. :drinking1

We have bever been to Ohanas before, so have nothing to compare it to, regarding Old Menu vs. New Menu.....So not knowing what it was like in the past, I think we will really enjoy it, It Sounds YUMMY !!
I really enjoy reading all these posts !
Thanks for the Ohana Information!! :woohoo: :love2:

We ate there this past Nov and it was the best meal we had on our trip and we ate at several good restaurants. We thought it was better than Le Cellier. We had more than enough food for the two of us. I think some people think they have to stuff themselves to the gills in order to get their money's worth, but one time around with the meat was more than I ever eat or should eat at one sitting. The potatoes were excellent and the dessert was fabulous. We don't eat shrimp due to allergies. We never felt rushed and continued eating as they brought new stuff out. No one removed anything til we were ready for them to and our waiter was very good. We had one sitdown with ADR's each day of the six we were at WDW and Ohana wins hands down. I did a review right after we got back so it's on here somewhere. We ate at Crystal Palace, 50's Prime Time (not impressed), Le Cellier, the Luau at Polynesian (okay), San Angel Inn for sit downs. And Kona for breakast (gotta have Tonga Toast). But I think Ohana was just overall better, atmostphere, food, and wait staff.
