If Wishes is held at 8:00 pm what time should I request PS for Ohanas in order to see it while dining? Also, are there tables that have better viewing?

We typically schedule our PS about 45 minutes before Wishes starts. That allows any time we might have to wait to get to our table. There are 2 dining areas. One is along the windows where you can see, the other is behind the firepit which blocks the view. When Wishes started, some of those in the back came around and stood where they could see. I think this is a wonderful experience, you'll love it!

We are staying at Pop Century and I was considering going to Ohanas on our first night. How long is the drive from Pop to the Polynesian?

I would do 45-1 Hour before, but be sure and arrive a bit early and ask to sit where you can view it. We didn't, because we honestly didnt care that much, but when it started we tried to go see it and in order to you have to bend over to watch, which is way too much work for a 15 min firework show!

And dont forget, requesting a window seat doesnt guarantee you will get one. I wouldnt book dinner there for the main purpose of viewing the fireworks. We have eaten there twice and been nowhere near a window either time.
IMO,the restaurant was wonderful, we didnt care about the view and we werent even there during the fireworks. Its worth going to for the food itself. I know if I had my heart set on going for the fireworks and couldnt get a seat in that area, I would have been disappointed.
Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

Hi-
Now that they posted the park hours on the WDW site,
How do I find the time for Wishes?
If the park is open till 10pm does that mean Wishes will be at 10?
Do they always do it at park closing?
My son's 6Bday is 10/9 and we have PS at Ohana's for 6:30.
I either want to be able to view them at resturant or be done in time to get back to park to view them. Don't want to get stuck 'in-transit'.
Thanks for the help-
Melissa

We stayed at the Ploy last time. Loved it and Ohana, but as others have said, don't count on seeing Wishes from there.

I suggest eating earlier and then walking out by the beach to see wishes. That way you get to really enjoy both.

Do you have a really good view of Wishes from the beach at Polynesian?

We had dinner at Ohana on Saturday night. The place was packed!

We checked in at 8:30 PM for our 9:00 PM priority seating. We were seated about 9:15 PM. We requested a window table and we got one right in front of the pool volcano, so it wasn't the greatest view.

Wishes began promptly at 10:00 PM as the lights were turned down and the music began. It was an amazing sight, although the smoke from the fireworks spread onto the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella's castle was obscured for most of the end of the show.

It was a magical experience indeed and I would do it again in a hearbeat.

I watched the fireworks from the Poly beach two years ago and the view was good.

A better view, if you're not locked into Ohana, is from the boat dock at the Grand Floridian. Have dinner at Narcoossee's just early enough to step outside to the dock in time for the fireworks. You can watch from a window table, but it's much better outside and a great way to cap off the evening.

Someone said that when wishes started they turned down the lights and the music started. Does this happen inside of Ohana's while you were dining there?

That's how they do it at Narcoossee's.
