Can someone explain to me how you de-vein peel and eat shrimp without peeling them? They'd either have to be already peeled and de-veined or they would be un-peeled and still have the vein in them. A de-veined shrimp will be cut down the back to form a little valley and the vein is then removed. I've never heard of a shrimp that still had the shell on them but were de-veined unless maybe they give them an enema or something!
I was there this past Tuesday and the shrimp we got was definitely not peeled and definitely NOT de-veined. I'm getting the impression that some folks either don't know the difference or just don't mind.
That's the point i was going to make -- you can't de-vein an unpeeled shrimp. Peel and eat shrimp are a pain in the rear.

We have an ADR for O'Hana for our first night and now I am reconsidering it. The shrimp is the only thing I eat and I am afraid to take the chance and have the shrimp not de-veined.
Plus reading about the hit and miss service lately.

I think I would rather eat a Reuben and fries at the Plaza for dinner that night...
I know nothing about shrimp -- I just eat what is brought to me on a platter -- usually breaded but I do LOVE the shrimp at Ohana. Now the next time when I eat there I am going to be hesitant in eating them for fear of chomping on a big pile of POO!
- how can it be de-veined some times and not others? I love the shrimp at O'Hana but am not paying that much on taking a chance its not de-veined. Yuck! I just don't know what to do.
I am laughing, but feeling
