Ohana's menu changing

I didn't care for either desserts but DH and DD love the bread pudding thing so I hope they don't take it away. I wonder what else they might change.

IMO, for the price they cahrge the pineapple with caramel thing is really cheap! The bread pudding is delicious, I hope they are not ditching it as a cost saving measure.

We are hoping they don't take away the bread pudding either. While I enjoy pineapple, there were quite a few times the pineapple wasn't ripe or just didn't taste that good.

You can always hope they offer both the Bread Pudding and the pineapple with caramel. This would give people the choice.

A lot of people are now traveling with dietary restraints of gluten etc. This would allow them to have a desert on hand that is an option with out devoting any kitchen staff time/money to making something special each individual time. I think we all know the bottom line at Disney is a combination of money and customer satifaction.

I'd be ok with that!!!! :thumbsup2

The bread pudding was excellent!! I could go there and just order that. I hope they don't take that away!

Bring back the banana bread and I'll be happy.

I will ditch my planned ADR and WAIT to get into O'hana in December if they bring back the pineapple, rice and wontons.

I like bread pudding...but it doesn't say Polynesian to me. Pineapple does. And that pineapple was always the freshest, most juicy pineapple ever.

You can get potatoes everywhere else. When they took the rice away, it made it plain jane just like everywhere else, where you had no carb variety.

That and rice is more Polynesian as well.

As far as the stuffed wontons...they are probably Asian inspired...probably not exactly Polynesian...but they were so so so delicious.

Crossing my fingers that this rumor is true and in effect for my dates in December so I can try and get in!

NOOOOOO! We love the bread pudding. That is one of my fave desserts in all WDW. They can't go back to the pineapple. Im allergic to it and can't eat it like that. So unless they have another option, Im out of luck. Don't get rid of the bread pudding with that yummy foster sauce. MMMMM!

I am suprised at how many people I have met that are allergic to pineapple. I co-own a little coffee shop and we serve a lot of salads. I know of at least 3 of our regulars that can't have any pineapple with their meals. And in our small town...well, three is a lot! :rotfl:

Anyway, I have never been to Ohana's, but we are planning to go in August. I just hope the reviews stop getting any worse! :sad2:

We ate at Ohana at the end of September, and it was the best meal we had during our whole trip! We LOVED the bread pudding, so I sure hope this rumor isn't true! Hopefully they will bring back the pineapple AND offer the bread pudding - give people a choice!

FWIW we really didn't like the sausages, and when we told our server this, she said it seemed that almost no one liked them, so Disney was going to be taking them off the menu and returning to shrimp on the skewers. She didn't say when this would happen, but she seemed pretty sure of it.

I would totally love the shrimp being back on the barbie as well! Not surprising that no one likes the sausage.

As far as allergies...you know people who live with it know what they can and cannot eat. And really, the number of people on this board is teeny compared to the number of people who visit WDW. So sometimes it may seem like *everyone* is allergic, but we just tend to read about it more here. Just some food for thought...pun not intended.

We LOVED O'hana's when they had the shrimp on skewers and the pineapple. I would eat that and the salad and have a meal alone. Now there is nothing I will eat so we havn't been back in years. If they bring back the SHrimp and Pineapple we will be back!

My whole family really liked the bread pudding. The thing we really love is the potatoes. I hope they do not take them away. We all disliked the rice. The rice was just so blah. I could get better rice at local Chinese places. And yes, I realize rice is more "authentic" than potatoes but those potatoes are good! The shrimp really doesn't matter to me. Didn't you have to peel the shrimp even when they were grilled? If I'm peeling them, it really doesn't matter how they are prepared. Now, if they were going to be grilled and peeled...that I would like. :)

I like both desserts so that doesn't matter to me. I say bring back the wontons and green beans!

What the last two intelligent posters said! :)

Oooohhh. Keeping fingers crossed for the return of those yummy wontons! I loved those things dipped in the peanut sauce!

From a first timer's perspective, I thought everything was wonderful. In fact, O'hana's was our favorite meal this trip. Also, quite a bargin.

If they get rid of that nasty steak skewer I'll be back!! We might have just had a bad skewer, but I was so looking forward to it - I asked for 3 pieces before I even realised it was mainly fat - bleurgh!!

However, those potatoes were amazing! I second grilled shrimp skewer and peeling them!!

The wontons and dips were really tasty but I would love some eggrolls!

I'm easy with dessert - I thought the bread pudding was just ok, however I really liked the sauce!!

We loved the shrimp on the skewers. Yeah shrimp is shrimp, but the grilled ones seem to have a lot more flavor.
We liked both the pineapple and the bread pudding so a choice would be what I would vote for!:thumbsup2
My favorite part of the meal is the salad with that honey lime dressing! YUMMY!!!

I am just wondering how you guys save room for dessert at all!! :)

After waaay too many Lapu Lapus and all that meat and wings and such, I can't even think about dessert!

FWIW- I liked the Pineapple OK, and didn't try the Bread Pudding, I don't think....too many Lapu Lapus, remember...... :)
