I have 2 DDs - aged 6 and 8 - and we're going to try and have them eat at Ohana's without a kids meal ... I can't imagine either (or myself for that matter) eating thier current dessert. Besides DH eating all 4 helpings, :rotfl: can they substitute something else just for the dessert?

The bananas foster does not come as individual desserts- it is in one large bowl. Have you ever tried it? It is the absolute BEST dessert in WDW!! It was the hit with our party of 9 last year- as I tell my kids "try it... you may like it"

You have to at least try their dessert. I have to agree about it being the best on Disney property.

If it's the bread pudding part you think you wouldn't like, then ask for just ice cream and, maybe, the banana sauce on the side. I have a friend that doesn't like anything "mushy" so she wouldn't try the "pudding" it but she loves the Banana's Foster sauce.:thumbsup2

FWIW, it really is a yummy dessert :goodvibes

I have to agree with the others. That is one of the best desserts that I've ever had! I'd do what someone else recommended - try a little and if you don't like it ask for bowls of ice cream.

Can someone describe it for me? I have been there twice but never been adventurous enough to try it and have eaten plain icecream. I don't usually like "mushy" things as one poster put it.

When we did Ohana, we let the server and chef know that our boys, then 7 and 4, were allergic to Pineapple. Even though the dessert doesnt contain it, they brought the boys the biggest snow cone in a sand pail with the shovel as the spoon...Talk about 2 happy boys! I am sure that they can do that if you just ask.

Ohana has ice cream - our kids got it with their kids meal. But I agree with all the other posters - gotta at least try the regular dessert. Yummy!

Honestly, I don't know how to describe it. I just find it to be good. Sorry, that doesn't help at all. My advice is the next time that you are there, go ahead and order your ice cream but (I will assume that the regular dessert is still served to the rest of your party?) grab a spoonful from the regular dessert for a bite. If you like it, you can grab more. If you don't, you'll have your bowl of ice cream in front of you to eat.

The bread pudding comes with ice cream on top which you can eat without the bread pudding. 'Ohana is also pretty accomodating and you might even be able to get a dessert from Kona Cafe. If not, I am sure they would give you ice cream cones as someone else posted.

At least try the bread pudding. IMHO it is the best dessert at WDW.

I wouldnt call the bread pudding exactly mushy unless you let the ice cream melt all over it. It's more like a french toast loaf. I didnt think I would like it either but we routinely get 2 helpings of it! :goodvibes

We all hate bread pudding, but we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the one at 'Ohana with the ice cream and the amazing bananas foster sauce. You really should try it before you decide you dont like it -- it's SO good! We're going back to 'Ohana in April, mostly for that dessert!:)

But, of course, you can just eat the ice cream, which is great, too.
