Ohana vs. Texas de Brazil

I'm considering each of these for my 40th birthday in December. It will be me, my husband, and our two children, ages 5 & 7. I'd appreciate it if anyone who has been to both restaurants would share with me which restaurant they preferred and why.

Thank you!

I've been to both in the last 2 weeks and I can say they're not that similar at all. Ohana has 3 meats and a shrimp on a skewer but only 1 beef which is a sirloin. Texas de brazil has about 5 beef options. A sirloin, filet, flank, and a couple others. The steak was good at ohana but not as good as TdB. Ohana offers more of a Polynesian flare. The flavors are different and atmosphere is different. They were both very good but the food tastes almost completely different.

I would pick Texas de Brazil in a heartbeat. We went on our June trip and enjoyed it very much. We've ate at Ohana several times, the food is good but not great. The meats can be very hit and miss, I've had the steak so raw that I could barely eat it (I like sirloin medium rare) and then the next time it would be well done. I just thought the food was way better at TdB, on the bar there were more sides to choose from. Even a picky eater could find something to eat.

Ohana may be a little more kid friendly with the coconut races and stuff. Personally I find it to be just too much. Lots of people post here about loving the lady who sings but DH and I find her very, very annoying. It's very loud and there are always kids running around.

:surfweb:TDB, why....thee little words.....MEAT, MEAT, & MEAT....oh yea, not to mention all you can eat!:cool2:
