Hey all! Question... does anyone know if/when Ohana and Trader Sams will be opening?? Or has anyone heard rumors of when they may open? I'm going to WDW 8/21 for a one-year anniversary trip with my BF and both of those are big on our want-to-do list.

No info yet. Trader Sam’s opening might be problematic because of the current bar closure rules in effect in Florida. I also think that the inside area will be problematic for social distancing, but they could use the patio.

Trader Sam’s can’t offer anything other than to-go service. Even if the bar re-closure order is rescinded before your trip, it may not be profitable for Disney to open it with a reduced capacity.

I believe resorts are only permitting entry for guests with TS ADRs a the resort. Trader Sam's doesn't take ADRs so if they were to open, it would only be for those staying at the Poly and I can't imagine that makes sense operationally. Its also very small inside and would have to have limited capacity, which also wouldn't make sense from an operations perspective. Pile on the new Florida alcohol restrictions on top of that.

True, but Enchanted Rose is open at Grand Floridian. I am interested in seeing if they make an exception to the ADR rule for that, since we will be at the Poly and so walking distances from it.

I am hopeful for Tiki Terrace reopening when the bar ban is lifted, and suspect it would most likely open after the hotel (non-DVC) side of the resort opens up on August 12. Trader Sam's is really too small for any kind of distancing post-Covid, sadly.

I have heard rumors that ‘Ohana will re-open around the same time as the resort side does on 8/12. Really hoping it turns out to be true!

I think I blow enough money in there every time to make it worth their while. 😄

Enchanted Rose is not open according to the WDW website. It’s been reported here that restaurants are currently taking walk ups, and anyone can take a bus from DS to a resort.

Enchanted Rose was open, then closed with the bar closure in FL before we made it over to GF last week.

Oh yeah I figured it had been open before the new executive order, just wanted to point out it isn’t now.

Could only people staying at the specific resort go to Enchanted Rose or Trader Sams?
I knew they had that rule for restaurants that you needed an ADR to get into a resort if you weren't staying there, but don't recall seeing anything about the bars as you can't get and ADR.

people have reported being able to visit other resorts for quick service dining. I don’t know if visiting a bar would fit into that parameter or not, but perhaps you just combine a visit to Trader Sam’s with a meal at Captain Cook’s.

The problem is more likely that both Enchanted Rose and Trader Sams have a specific liquor licenses, that they applied for, stating that 50%+ of their revenue would come from alcohol sales, which is what it seems FL is basing its new rules on. There's no way that either of them could apply for a modified license that states otherwise. While, based on what I have read about the Enchanted Rose, it seems as though it has the space to implement social distancing, the new executive order is based on the specific liquor license it has.

I do wonder whether the ADR enforcement at a resort will change once the parks open and there are more guests at the resorts and people on property. Right now, the resorts are relatively empty so they may be allowing walk ups for that reason.

agree 100% with this based on how it's laid out I doubt they could do more than 2-3 tables I would think to go from the outside window, not he patio is how it will open initially. But this would have to be after bars get reopened.
