My dd who is very picky loved the potatoes so save the potatoes gets my vote!!

My choice isn't there...bring back the rice! ;)

But I would choose noodles over potatoes with that meal.

Save the potatoes! The noodles are as unauthentic as the potatoes, so why take them away?:confused3

I'm not sure what this poll would do, but I vote to keep the noodles. They look so tasty with the big chunks of pineapple and red pepper. Yum!

Enough of the noodle bashing already...the noodle dish is Asian inspired which is a HUGE part of Hawaiian cuisine. The Potatos are not. So like the Potatos if you must but don't add 'facts' that aren't.

Since the potatoes are no more authentic than the noodles (and adding pineapple and red pepper is a lame attempt at trying to authenticate the dish), I'll go with the potatoes.

Ohana is supposed to be a restaurant with south-pacific inspired cuisine. Neither lo mein or potatoes fit the bill, so this whole "it's more authentic" arguement is lacking because neither are authentic.

And I'm of the opinion that the new "additions" would have been better suited at a restaurant like Lotus Blossom Cafe.

I could find the noodles (the new wontons, too, for that matter) at any Chinese restaurant. And I'm from Chicago and we have Chinese restaurants (as well as every other cuisine possible) seemingly everywhere, and I can't think of one place that DOESNT sell pork-filled wontons or lo-mein.

Take away the potatoes, fine...but at least TRY to authenticate the menu. If you're only going to replace one non-authentic item with another, at least make it tastier, or something not so commonplace.

We haven't tasted the noodles yet. But I have to say, unauthentic as they were, the potatoes were yummo!

I think if you want to get an idea of the noodles open up a can of LaChoy Lo mein noddles and youll have a pretty good idea of Authenticty. Id rather have great tasting potatoes then sommeting that looks so unappealing to so many. Opening up a can of pinapple does not make a dish tasty. My poor daughter saw the noodles and said it looked like a pile of worms. You can't mess up cheesy potatoes to bad, but that noodle dish is a disaster waiting to happen.

Sorry noodle Lovers if this may be offensive to you, but unless your grandma made this recipie I see no reason to get upset:sad2:

I'm sorry, but it's your opinion that they aren't tastier. I'm sure lots of people thought they were delicious.

And commonplace. You can't really get any more commonplace than cheesy potatoes. :confused3 They're almost exactly those Betty Crocker things that come in a box. Just my opinion.

It always amazes me how many people hate a dish before they even try it. However, I do understand that many love cheesy potatoes and loved the cheesy potatoes at Ohana's.

I voted for the noodles, becuase I believe them to be more authentic than the potatoes.

I googled noodles Asian cuisine. I hit many different sites and recipes.

I did the same with potatoes and Asian cuisine, didn't get any hits other than the aforementioned sweet potatoes (different noodle bashing thread). I would be willing to bet that if the cheesy potatoes were removed in favor of sweet potatoes, just as many people would be upset.

Can't even believe they got rid of the potatoes, they were the BEST part of the meal @ Ohana!!!
