It comes down to replacing a dish that had been superior (served hot, not all that greasy) every time I frequented Ohana and replacing it with something I could make without even really doing any cooking. And isn't that the point of dining out, especially when on vacation? Trying new cuisine? Trying things that you maybe can't cook?

Honestly there's nothing at 'Ohana that's very original or hard to cook. It's basically a bbq with slightly different sides and seasoning.

Those potatoes were the reason why I booked 'Ohana last year. So many DISers saying it was a "superior" dish. Then it turns out to be something even I could have whipped up in five minutes. Cut potatoes, add cream add cheese put in oven. Done. And in our case, serve cold.

Exactly. When did scalloped potatoes become some exotic dish only found in WDW? :rotfl2:

I would even suggest that they are a lot more common in American homes than lo mein noodles. :confused3

Not that I did not like the potatoes, they were pretty good when I had them but as it happens with a lot of menu changes, people tend to make judgments before even giving the changes a chance. That is their prerogative, but I would not mind at least trying the noodles.

People on this board do not like change period. Anytime something is changed there is going to be a thread started with people all upset before they even get a chance to try the new dishes out. It's just an overpriced mediocre restaurant people.

Hey go back!!!! Did they add the big Prawns back???? If so I'm in love again! I loved loved loved those and was so disappointed when they took them away.

As far as the potatoes I didnt' care for them any way :)

Thanks so much lucas for posting the recipe. I'm going to try them at home. I loved them last year, but you have to admit, they weren't Polynesian. The noodles don't look that good to me, but hey, who knows?
