'Ohana is my mostest-favoritest place to eat in all of WDW. The change in the menu did not change how much I love the food in the least - they took away some stuff I liked, but replaced it with stuff I like just as much.
Some people have complained that they got overcooked or dry meat. But everybody has their own standard of what constitutes dry or overcooked; the meats have always been perfect for me.
Some people have complained that the new desert is "nothing special," and bemoaned the loss of the old desert, but personally, I never saw anything remotely special about sliced pineapple and canned caramel sauce. It was tasty, but the new desert is both more unique and way tastier.
Some people have complained that they felt rushed at 'Ohana. But that comes from the fact than many dishes are put on the table at once, a practice that is not meant to rush you, but to give you the full variety of the meal at once. No server at 'Ohana has ever made me feel rushed; in fact, the servers take their time, and every meal I've ever had at 'Ohana has taken at least an hour, even when dining alone. With a group, it's more like 2 hours.
I love eating at 'Ohana for more than just the terrific food. I love the relaxed Polynesian atmosphere, I love the music, I love the kids games, and I love the terrific view of MK out the windows. I also love wandering the Poly grounds after dinner, slowly digesting my meal and taking pictures of the beautiful setting.
Not everyone is going to love 'Ohana. Tastes vary from person to person, and some folks are simply not going to like the food, or the atmosphere, or the service, or the themeing at 'Ohana. It's not a good/bad proposition, it's one of those "I like it" or "I don't like it" propositions.
"I like it."
