(we didn't try the pork)

Are you guys just not pork lovers, or did it not look all that good that night, or what? The pork has been excellent every time I've had it, very lean and un-greasy, with a terrific flavor.

Of the 4 meats on the skewers, I find the turkey is my fave, with the pork coming in second. The steak is always terrific, but once in a while it gets a little fatty for my taste (I like my meat so lean you can't even see the marbleing, but that's just me), and the new sausage, although very tasty, was a little on the chewey side last time. I don't know if that's typical of Hawaiian sausage or if I just got an overcooked batch.

My family (4 of us) spent a week at the Poly in May. We had 1 dinner at Ohana, and it was by far the worst food of the week. The shrimp were overcooked, and sitting in way too much liquid. The potatoes were greasy and bland. There was some sort of lousy vegetable. The steak was tough and not very tasty, the turkey was overcooked, and the pork was fatty. The sausage was just ok, but had no taste. Plus, they brought out things in the wrong order (potatoes before salad, then salad, then meat). Restaurant wasn't crowded, so no excuse there. However, the salad was good.

We had 1 breakfast at Ohana, and it was just ok. By the way, we found the rest of the food at Disney to be very good. I had 3 dinners at Kona, 2 breakfasts at Kona, plus mutliple meals at Captain Cooks. We also had 2 dinners at GF, 1 lunch at GF, plus lunches at MK and Epcot.

Ohana was our first meal, and glad we got the bad one out of the way. I don't think I would go back for dinner-but I might go back for breakfast. We

We just went there for dinner last week after a long crowded day at MK. Our reservation was for 5p.m and we were seated very quickly. There were three of us and they gave us a table in the middle of the room. We kindly asked if we could please move to one of the empty window tables. The CM seemed really hassled about this, left, came back and told us no, they were reserved or already taken. We wouldn't have cared but for all of the empty tables we were seated with one of the worst views. Oh well, it didn't spoil our time.

I thought some of the food was great and some of it mediocre. The wontons and the sauces were very good. The salad was okay, nothing spectacular, same with the stir fried veggies. I'm not a huge meat eater but I thought the meats were very good, although so messy. The potatoes were my absolute favorite and the dessert was so so, nothing that great in my opinion. Cocktails were fabulous. I'm pregnant so I ordered a virgin pina colada. I was very pleased with how fresh the ingredients tasted and you gotta love the little umbrella garnish. The food did come in a very timely manner but again, we had an early reservation.

We all enjoyed the food overall but I must admit that we probably would have preferred something a little less noisy after being at the loud, crowded park all day. The lady on the microphone that runs around with the kids is great entertainment for some I'm sure but for some of us adults it was obnoxious and for my four year old, he was so overstimulated at that point that he was hiding under the table.

Overall we didn't leave feeling unsatisfied. The food was pretty good, the service was prompt (aside from the disgruntled CM), and it was a heck of a lot nicer than eating somewhere in the MK.

We have been to Ohana 3 times and will not be going back. The meat is over cooked, dry and has no flavor. They have taken away the side items we enjoyed, so 3 strikes and it is out!

We just don't do pork, although it looked good. I know that is goofy, since the sausage is going to be pork, too. But we're not fond of pork chops or tenderloin, so we skipped that meat.

Ohana is the best restaurant we ate at while in Disney this past may! Service and food were unbelievable! I also highly recommend Crystal palace in Magic Kingdom!

I don't think that's goofy at all (Gawrsh!) because even though sausage may contain pork, it certainly doesn't taste the same as a pork chop or tenderloin. If it's the taste and texture of a food that you don't care for, then it makes perfect sense that you might not dislike every dish that contains it.

I hate cabbage, but I love cole slaw. I love green beans, but I hate green bean casarrole. And I hate liver, but... well, I just hate liver.

The limbo, races where the kids use a broomstick to push a coconut around the place, and I think hula dancing too. She walked out of there with some leis, too.

Thanks, it sounds like fun! Hula dancing? Can Daddy do the hula, too? :rotfl: DD8 already is embarrassed! :rotfl2: ...Wait a second DD8 is having a change of heart! Now she says I can dance the hula as long as I don't wear the grass skirt, or the 'coconut top' !!!!:teeth:

'Ohana is one of our favorite restaurants in Walt Disney World! It is the only dinner we are repeating when we go back in September! Here is our review:

We were seated only a couple minutes after our ADR time in an area just slightly off to the side of the grill. Our "Cousin" Stephanie was fairly nice but her "assistant" or whatever he was that helped her bring our food was wonderful! I got the Malibu Macaw and my best friend got an Island Sunset, which we both enjoyed very much.

Our meal began with the salad. The dressing is as good as everyone says it is! Next came the wonton chips with the 3 dipping sauces. I don't remember what each one was but I remember I liked the peanut one and my friend liked the green one. The chips were Ok but it was the sauces that we really enjoyed.

Next we got the honey coriander chicken wings, the potatoes, the sweet & sour shrimp, and the stir-fried veggies. The wings are delicious but very sticky and messy. We were brought some warm moist towels to keep ourselves clean with. The vegetables were pretty good but a bit overwhemled by all the other foods. We loved the shrimp and the potatoes equally well. (with just the 2 of us we had to ask for seconds of both) The shrimp can be a bit messy to peel but well worth the effort (once again thanks for the wet towels).

Finally we began to get the grilled meats. The steak was not at all dry as some as gotten it. It was very tender and moist and cooked just right. The pork was also good with a barbeque glaze on it. The turkey was just a bit dry but also quite good. We felt the sausage was just OK. Not bad but nothing really great about it.

After we had finished, our table was cleared and we were brought the pineapple bread pudding. My main problem was that instead of bringing us 2 plates to serve ourselves on as we had all during the meal, the server brought out the dessert, sat it down, poured all the banana's foster sauce on top of it, plopped down 2 forks, and declared that he was sure we didn't mind sharing! While we don't mind being mistaken for a couple sometimes, we really preferred being able to at least eat out of separate plates. So we had to call over our main server and ask for plates and spoons so we could enjoy the dessert separately.

Honestly the dessert was very good, but by this point I was so full I couldn't fully enjoy it.

We love 'Ohana and it is definately a must-do for us every time from now on! :cool1:
