Ohana res too late? How long is it?

The only time I can get for Ohana is 9:30! sob! How long is it about til your out of there? We have 4 kids, ages 3, 4, 7 & 9. Would we be done too late for them. Couple hours, one hour? We're also going to have to get back to Saratoga from there too, is it close by chance?

I'm sorry but I think the 9:30 ADR will be way too late. It will take at least an hour, and that is if you're seated on time.

When you consider all of WDW, Saratoga isn't what I would call close. If you were driving in your own vehicle, it is a 15-20 minute drive. A lot longer if you have to rely on Disney transportation.

If you were seated at 9:30, you probably wouldn't be getting back to SSR until 11:30.

I think that 9:30 is too late for the little ones. I think that they will be so tired during the meal. Most likely you won't get out of there until about 11:30. I would keep checking to see if someone cancels, maybe you can get a earlier seating.

Ooh, that's pretty late. We've dined at 'Ohana three times and they've usually taken 1/2 hour to seat us. I would say dinner would take at least an hour or so once you're at your table and your order has been taken. After then you'll need to walk to the TTC to catch a bus back to SSR. I'd say it would midnight by the time you get back to your room.

If you can get an earlier time that would be better, especially with younger ones. I'd also recommend a taxi back to SSR. It's worth it not to have to bus it back to SSR regardless of what time you end up having dinner.

We did 9:30 with our 7, 5 and almost 2yo and it was so late when we got out of there. The kids did have a blast, but it was just too late when we finally got back to POR. It's fairly busy, even at that late hour, and we had to wait to be seated. I'd say we were there for at least 1.5 eating and limbo'ing after we finally got seated. LOL

I agree with the others. 9:30 is awfully late for the kids, as you probably won't be done until close to 11 pm. As much as we enjoy Ohana, if that was the best they could offer, we'd look elsewhere for dining options. If it was just my wife and I, no problem. But not with kids.

I too think that is too late for your children. They seldom seat on time, and dinner can easily take 90 minutes.
Also they stop the children's entertainment at either 9 or 9:30.

I guess it depends on your kids. You'll have a wait for Ohana no matter what time your ADR is but I didn't find our meal to last that long, maybe an hour tops. I can tell you that my 3 year old seems to have no problem with that time. Me on the other hand....I might be falling asleep by the time dessert would be served and that would NOT be a good thing LOL. My kids seem to have no problem staying up well past me these days.

I think it would be way too late, you don't want your little ones falling asleep at the table. Mable do a character meal instead? Crystal palace is always a great choice. Good luck with whatever you decide! When we went we waited a good 20 minutes to be seated.

Hello, I was in a similar situation during my trip in 2009. Our ADR was for 9:30 PM (the only time I could get) - but we weren't seated until later - after a long day in the parks I was starved (and loved the food) but my kids (8, 12 and 14) were too exhausted to eat much - which is a shame given the price... I would not do that again. The next day we ate at Kona ( I was albe to get a reasonable time) and we loved it! I would suggest trying to get a ressie there - you still get to be at the Poly and the food was very good. Have a great trip!

I've eaten at 'Ohanas 4 times and not once have we been seated on time for our reservation. The later the reservation it seemed the more we waited too. The latest we've done is a 9:15 reservation and we weren't seated until close to 9:45 ish. They run behind as the night goes on.

It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to eat and go through all the courses.

Best case scenario for you:

Seated on time at 9:30
Done eating at 10:15
If you have to take Disney Transportation you will need to take the monorail to Magic Kingdom which you probably wouldn't get to until 10:30ish at the earliest.
Then wait for a bus to your hotel so you wouldn't likely get in until 11:00PM. Thats absolute best case scenario. I'd think closer to 11:30/11:45.

They usually seat you with a basket of pineapple bread. Then immediately start bringing out the appetizers. When you are ready for the main courses, the servers begin coming around your table with skewers of fire bbq'ed meats. Then upon finishing, you get your family style dessert. It can take a while if you stop and your children participate in the games and stuff they play, but it is no longer than any other meals at Disney. Last time we had it, it was pretty delicious as well.

I had a similar question. There are 9:30 'Ohana reservations available every night we're there, but nothing earlier. We are looking at the night of our arrival, though, when we will still have an hour of time zone difference we haven't adjusted to. And, we aren't doing a park that day or the next day(!).

Someone said they end the kids' activities early. Seeing as that would be the main reason we would go there, it would make our decision easy if they don't have the games going at that time of night. Does someone have a definitive answer on when the activities stop?
