Ohana question

I read allot of good things about Ohana. I am taking my 3 grandchildren;12,13 and 14 in March. I no they are past the character meals but heard this was a fun place. But one of my boys is not a big meat eater and since I heard that it is mainly meat on skewers I wondered if there were enough other things he would like to eat?

The skewers are beef, pork, turkey and shrimp (you have to peel the shrimp). If he likes turkey or shrimp you're good. If he doesn't, he can still fill up on the chicken wings, pork dumplings or lo mein noodles, assuming he likes any of those. There's also salad. Ohana's served family style but it's all you can eat; if anyone wants more of anything, just ask for it.

It's amazing! There are lots of other items before they bring the meat skewers...I am usually so full by then! They have great salad, chicken wings and pork dumplings that they bring out with all types of dipping sauces. And the dessert, Banana Fosters, is to die for!

OH the desert at Ohana's is YUMMOOOO I can not wait till Sept. to have some. My DH and DS always order seconds of this.

I think I may ask them to bring this out first next time I am there! I am always so full by then, but seem to make room for the Bananas Foster!

I could fill up on the dessert alone.

'Ohana is one of our favorite meals - there is so much to eat there. I agree with all the other posters.

I totally agree - there is plenty of other food to satisfy.
I am not a big meat-eater myself but I loved the salad, bread, and potatos (replaced with noodles now, I believe).

The coconut races and limbo dance were SO MUCH FUN for the kids!

I agree! He'll love it too.
The noodles, bread, veg, salad and dessert are all yummy.
Even if he has NO meat, it'll still be a delicious meal.

This is what I found when I looked at WDWInfo.com:

Alternative selections for children: Chicken nuggets, Macaroni & cheese, Grilled cheese sandwich, PB & J sandwich, Hamburger, or Cheeseburger. All of the above served with French fries. Includes tea and soda. - $14.99

When we went last May my DH's 21 year old son would not try the dessert there. Horror of horrors - it is the best dessert I have ever had - but I degress. He just asked for vanilla ice cream - they brought him 3 huge scoops of vanilla ice cream. I did see them giving younger kids ice cream in a beach pail. I think my DSS (Disney Step Son) was quite disapointed that he got his in a regular bowl.

They do have some other options for kids if they don't love meat. They offered my DD3 a plate of chicken strips and fries. When it came it was the portion of an adult. When it was time to check out, they charged $12 for her meal. I feel like they tricked me into it cause they knew it was for her and should have brought a child's size portion. I don't mean to make it look bad cause we love the food and service (other than this one incident) at Ohana's but I think they should have told me the kids meal options. Incase you order a meal other than the regular, just be sure they don't do this to you.
