Ohana PS and fireworks time?

HI , I have a PS at Ohana for Valentine nite at 7pm. I made it thru concierge before I knew that fireworks were at 7pm. We have also invited another family to join us (they are not staying at the Poly). I do have confirmation that our Ps is all set. My question is should we show up a little early and hope for good seating to view the fireworks or should we just watch them from the beach and show up a few minutes late or should I call and try to change the PS time?? When you make reservations thru concierge are you more likely to get a window table if requested??The viewing of the fireworks is one of the reasons I choose to eat here that nite.Also we have eaten here before and really enjoyed it but this is the first time for the family that is joining us. Joan, I think you might want to ajust your PS time if you can. We ate at 'Ohana on the 12th of January and had a 6 PM PS. We arrived 5 minutes before our PS and waited for about 10 minutes to be seated. We were finishing up our meal as the fireworks went off at 7 PM sharp. If your PS isn't until 7 PM, you might not be seated right away and you might not be able to view the fireworks from the waiting area. JMHO. Good luck! DU

Thanks Momzmom- I am thinking about trying to switch to 6:30,but I am not sure if we will be able to see the fireworks from our table? I will try and call Poly concierge later on. Joan

Are you sure the fireworks are at 7? A CRO told me yesterday the Water pageant was at 7 and the fireworks were at 8 on Valentine's Day.

Does anyone know where to look for this?

Water pageant is always at 9:00 at the Poly unless the fireworks are at 9:00 in which case the pageant starts right after the fireworks end. Perhaps she was referring to the MK parade?

I found what I hope is the definitive site for hours-the Walt Disney World site itself. Under hours for MK on Feb. 14, Spectromagic is at 7 and the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks are at 8, so Joan should be fine with the reservations she has. These hours are different from both the Pete Werner site and all Ears Net.

WE are coming into Tampa at 5:30, and have to rent a car and make it to the Poly by 7:50-doable?

Janet, I just went on the WDW site and you are right about the fireworks it now says 8pm!! I had gotten the hours a while ago off of Disney World The Online Guide and they are now wrong. I do not know about the Water Pagent, but I have a call into the Poly and will ask when they call me back! Thanks for your help. I just need to know now if we have a good chance for a window table?? There are 8 of us and I made the PS thru Poly concierge in Dec.?? Anybody like to venture a GUESS?? Thanks,Joan

Have them save a table for us! (the four crabs from Michigan!)-I'll be very interested to hear what they say.

I am worried about one thing-I have an 8 yr old who is a really picky eater (my 15yr old son will eat anything-ate mussels when he was three). I'm worried that there will be nothing at Ohana Julie will eat, but I'm sure not letting go of this reservation!

I think our PS at Ohana is for 6:50 p.m. on Monday 2/17. The fireworks are scheduled for 8:00 p.m. I'm thinking we should be finishing dinner just about the time they start. Can anyone tell me about the water pageant? Is this something we should stick around for? Also, how long are the fireworks?

Janet, I have a 15 year old son also!! He is a meat and potato eater and he loved it here!! They have pork,beef,turkeyand shrimp as the main meal. (there may be more that I do not remeber)Salad,veggies and a few other things come first as appetizers. It is ALOT of food! We were stuffed! At the end you can order a dessert but with the meal they serve pineapple with caramel dipping sauce. It was wonderful! I also have a 9year old son,he enjoyed playing the games when we were there this summer. And I have an 18 year old daughter. We have another family joining us for dinner(they have not eaten here before and are coming on my reccomendatio)THey have 12 year old daughter. LOOK FOR US!! Hopefully in a window seat. I LOVE the MK fireworks and am really looking forward to this nite! Joan Bichon Barb The fireworks are about 10 minutes and deffintely stick around for the Water Pagent ! It is really neat if you have never seen it before and can be seen from the beach at the Poly.We have been going to WDW since my daughter was 2(now 18) and the EWP is still one of her fav things to see!! Janet, I talked to a CM at the Poly and she said that the EwP is at 9pm on Valentines day.So I am thinking that if we are done with dinner we will go and watch it on the poly beach. Joan

It's at 9:00 every night...year round with the above noted exception! It can be cancelled if the weather is bad enough!

Where are you going to stay? We will be at the Swan. My daughter will be wearing a pink tshirt with a puffed heart on it-she's blonde and 8. I hope we catch SOME of the fireworks-it depends on how well we do getting in from Tampa.

My 15 yr old LOVES meat, esp. shrimp so I think he will be fine, but my daughter eats three things-Mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly and hot dogs. It's really annoying, but when I was her age I would only eat American cheese sandwiches, and my mom said I would have a daughter just like me! So, actually, Julie does a little better than me. I'm hoping they will stick a hot dog on the barbie....

Janet, We are staying at the Poly from 2/12-2/17 and the BCV from 2/17-2/22. Ohana is very accomodating, they may be able to get you some Mac and cheese or a hotdog from one of the other restaurants.I would certainly ask. My daughter remembered that they serve the best chicken wings as an appetizer also.If you do not make the fireworks you could still see the EWP.I will probably wear something red or pink for Valentines Day.If I remember when I am packing! If you see a party of 8 come and see if it is us!!When my husband and my friend (the wife,Leslie, of the other couple)get together you can usually hear them LAUGHING across the room!! For some reason they just seem to crack each other up!! Leslie has a very distinctive laugh and my Hubby is usually crying from laughing so hard.Leslie's hubby and I are just normal We are all from RI and FREEZING up here, so we are looking for some SUNSHINE!! Mitla96 - kids can order off the kids menu from the Kona cafe if they aren't interested in the food at O'hana. I think the kids meals are about $6, I don't remember if you have to ask ahead but I'm sure someone on this board will know!

I just got back last night.We had 5:50 PS at O'hanas.We were seated by 6:00.We were there for the fireworks,(7:00)it was toward the end of the meal.The only problem was we were there at the right time for viewing...we just couldn't see them We were right behind the cooking /service area.They don't let you stand to see them.DS and DD were a little let down but it didn't ruin the time.We got to ride the front of the monorail when we left.So don't get kids hopes up for seeing the fireworks.It all depends on where you are seated.
