'Ohana or Yachtsman

I say cancel both.

I don't think of Ohana as romantic at all--very noisy.

I had a terrible experience at Yachtsman and will never return.

We love Yachtsman. We ate there twice in August and had nothing but fabulous food and service.

We went for dinner on Dec. 5. They were running a little past the ADR times, but we insist on ONE particular server, so the wait was pretty long. Our choice - they could have seated us earlier if we would have switched servers.

They had changed chefs between August and December.

My FAVORITE seafood salad appetizer had been "tweaked" and not in a good way. Not my favorite anymore!

DH and I both ordered steak, and both of them were cooked wrong. Mine was well done instead of medium well, his was flat out medium in spots. If mine would have been as rare as his I would have sent it back. Luckily I don't mind well done meat as long as it isn't tough. It had been a really long day so DH just ate it even though it was more rare than he prefers.

I have heard from several other folks that they had some less than stellar meals at Yachtsman in December, and I see from creativeamanda's dining reviews that she was there around that same time.

My friend just returned from her trip and she said her food was good, so I am hoping maybe it was a transitional thing. Maybe the new chef just needed to find his groove? We can hope.

We are going back to Yachtsman in June. I hope it is back up to snuff. I not, we may not return again for awhile.

Yachtsman is my choice hands down! We went here on the 2nd night of our honeymoon. It was fabulous. The whole experience was lovely and the food was delicious. Just to warn you though it is pricey! Definately worth it though.

That's okay... we're already staying Concierge Level with almost all Signature Dining. One more expensive meal won't hurt.

Thanks. I think I'm going to stick with Yachtsman. SO doesn't do seafood, so Flying Fish would be wasted on him.

I saw another thread where you thought Morton's was "mid-level." Keep in mind that Yachtsman is yet a notch down from that. It is a good restaurant, but a bit below Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Capitol Grille, Shula's, etc., and WAY below premiere steakhouses like Charlie Palmer's, CUT, BLT Steak, David Burke's PrimeHouse, Mastro's, et al.

By the way, two of the best entrees at Flying Fish are not seafood (the Berkshire pork and steak), just so you know.

DH and I love Yachtsman!!!!! Trying to get a last minute ressie for Valentines Day..last minute trip.

Hands down Yachtsman although I may be a little biased towards a steak restaurant. Both a good but Yachtsman is more of an experience versus a meal. Enjoy your meal.

I know 'Ohana is one of those love it or leave it type places. I'm one of the latter in this respects. My husband and I just really did not like it. If you're going for romance, then 'Ohana is probably not the way to go because it is very noisy and they have lots of activities for children. In this respect I think it's a wonderful family restaurant, but if you're looking for romance I'd go with the other choice.

I have reservations at both for the Saturday night of our trip. Obviously, we can't dine in both places.... which is a more memorable, romantic dining experience? It's our last night in WDW!

If your going for romance then Yachtsman. Yachtsman has the fancy food, you can get dressed up more, and it has candlelite tables. It's also has a quiet dinning room.

Ohana's is great! The view and food are amazing, BUT it is loud and not very nice for a romantic experience.

Try Bluezoo, it's a great restaurant (although not on the DDP)

We like Yachtsman but we don't find it romantic at all due to all of the families with kids dining there now (at least that's our experience in the summer months)

Ohana is good but much louder and full of kids too

If romance is a factor then Yachtsman Steakhouse is by far the better choice, Ohana is very loud. The food is good at Ohana, but better at Yachtsman.
