Ohana or sci fyi

Then go for Sci-Fi, as when my kids were younger they LOVED Sci-Fi, it was quieter and indoors, air conditioned, def a break from the heat. As a matter of fact when we go back, just my wife and myself we going going back to Sci-Fi.........
I agree with this. My DS looooved this place when he was younger. The theme is awesome. Its cool and one of the quietest restaurants around. Food has always been good....i stick to burgers and shakes. Shakes are to die for btw, oreo, yum. :cloud9:

Its much easier to eat at SciFi since youre already in the park. Besides, I really didnt think the food at ohana is all that great. Are you paying cash? You'll save a ton of money at SciFi. Ohana is expensive.

ohana restaurant is that doable on a Epcot day?? Or sci fye is that a must do in hs?? Trying to figure out where to cut

I would not leave Epcot to dine in DHS. Or to dine at 'Ohana. With two little girls I would choose Garden Grill. The Chipmunks are there with Farmer Mickey. Cute as can be, and the food is family style, so no need to get up to get the items.

If you do want to leave for dinner, I woudl look into 1900 PArk Fare at the Grand Floridian. This is a lovely resort and worth the monorail trip to visit. The meal features Lady Tremaine and the Step sisters. Cindy and Charming also are there. This is a buffet and the food is pretty good. The sisters are hysterical, and I bet the girls will love it. I took my two younger Princesses there when all the parents were going to Sanaa. My 14 at the time YO DGD had the option of going with them or coming with me and the girls. She loves that character meal and opted to join us.

'Ohana is hot or miss lately, but honestly even if it was a 5***** rating, I would bet children would prefer a character meal hands down.

I agree with this. Going to ohana on an epcot day would eat up a lot of time. And i agree that Garden Grill is the perfect choice for two little girls. Chip and Dale are super cute. And i too love the family style. No need to get up. Food is so fresh and delicious. Cant go wrong.

We r only doing future world that day I did book ohana maybe I should switch it to garden grill?

Our 4.5 yr old was scared of the movie clips when we were at Sci Fi this past February. Head buried in one of our laps, refused to eat kind of scared. He is the type to find the beginning of Beauty & the Beast too scary with the angry Beast, most kids would have been fine. It put a damper on the experience for us, but did result in my DH and I splitting the grown up cookies & cream milkshake with kalua which was delicious.

I booked ohana deciding if I should switch it to garden grill since we will be at future world ?? And input my first visit

If you have younger kids, I would seriously consider Garden Grill. We have eaten at Ohana with and without kids. Just doesn't do much for us. Didn't like feeling rushed.
Garden Grill was an amazing experience. Felt much smaller and didn't feel rushed, even for a charater meal.
personally, I would not leave EPCOT to go to Ohana for a meal. At best you will spend close to 2 hours travel time on the Monorail to get to Ohana and back to EPCOT. EPCOT monorail to TCC, transfer to resort monorail. Repeat coming back, plus going through security at Poly and then at EPCOT.

Definitely Ohana !! Sci fi is overrated . Atmosphere is good but the food is nothing to speak of at Sci fi. Ohana is the winner here

No way does it take 2 hours to get back to the Poly from Epcot. The way the other poster told you is entirely unnecessary. All you have to do is take the Epcot monorail to the TTC and take a 5 minute walk to the Poly from there. No need to switch to the resort monorail, because the Poly is literally right next to the TTC. We stayed there last year during F&W and did this multiple times with no issues.

The only way it’s taking more than 30 minutes is if the monorail gets held up.

We r only doing future world that day so I thought it would be ok.. do have thoughts on what restaurant to book?

You picked 2 of my favorite places to eat. I let the girls decide where we eat but I insist on one meal at Sci-Fi. Its a great place to rest in air conditioned semi darkness. I love the burgers and its very quiet. Plus I live drive-in theaters. We like Ohana so much we do 2 dinners and 1 breakfast every trip. One thing thou we never park hop to eat. We do a lot of our meals at the hotels.

Honestly? I’d go with Garden Grill. Even discounting transportation time, Ohana usually takes a while to get seated. I would only leave a park for dinner if I wasn’t planning on coming back to it.
