I booked Ohana for a 6pm dinner during the week before Easter (4 adults and 2 children-DD4 & DD2), and I am on the fence now because of the wait times. Anyone have experience with Ohana during super busy season? Is the food/service better at Kona? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We've been to both during busy times. We had excellent service at both. In fact, we arrived earlier than our reservation time to Ohanas by almost 30 min. (had planned for 15 min. before our reservation time, but got there even earlier because we over estimated the time it would take to leave the park and transfer there) and was seated w/in 5 min. of arriving. We got seated at 5:05 when our reservation wasn't until 5:30. While the service was great at both, the food and atmosphere by far was much better at Ohanas. The food we had at Konas was good, but Ohanas is another story--absolutely delicious. Also, the atmosphere isn't that great at Konas. Ohanas has a much funner dining experience too--especially for kids. They had cocunut broom races for the kids, they taught them how to dance to Hawaiian music, gave them leis, etc. I would definitely keep your Ohanas reservation.

We were a party of 6 adults and 3 kids under 4 when we ate at Kona the week before Easter in 2009. The food was good, but it was busy and everything took a very long time. That is the only meal of that whole week that I distinctly remember it was "uncomfortably long" with the kids. We have our first ressie at Ohana this April. I can't say that Kona is longer/shorter than Ohana, but I would recommend that if you choose either one, don't be in a hurry.

We loved Kona last year, but my DS3 was bored about halfway through. The Neverland club is downstairs (we learned AFTER dinner) if you wanted to have a quiet dinner.

We went on spring break last year and Ohana was one of 2 restaurants that we had to wait past our ADR time to be seated (the other being 50s PTC). In January we were seated 30 mins prior to our ADR at Ohana. I prefer the Ohana food to Kona. Kona is not bad by any means, but the food isn't something that is all that special, to me. Ohana food I will think about all year long! :rotfl: Kona will be a quieter, more relaxed meal; but the food at Ohana is worth it!
