Ohana menu change

We just ate at O'hana on Friday the 11th. We had the salad, S&S shrimp, wings for appetizers. The potatoes and veggies are still on the menu along with beef, turkey, pork and grilled shrimp (which were delicious!). There were no wontons/chips of any kind and we never got the sauces. We asked our server several times but he never brought them although we know they had the sauces because we saw them on other tables. The dessert was still the bread budding with bananas foster sauce and vanilla ice cream. Did I miss anything?

:cool1:

Just messaged my DH at work to tell about the new changes...we have not been since the last round of changes either. He is a HUGE grilled shrimp fan, and 'Ohana was one of our biggest "must-do's". Now he says he's ready to go back...to 'Ohana and WDW! Hooray, maybe now he'll make it a priority. Heaven knows I do...:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Oh, I do hope the Maui Potatoes stay. They were my absolute favorite.

We asked our waiter about the changes, and he said they weren't done yet. He expects something will replace the wontons, and something else (likely the sweet and sour shrimp) will go. He said the "sides" are pretty much untouchable...the potatoes and stir fry veggies aren't going anywhere.

I had just made our ressies for our first trip to Ohana's but will be cancelling it now as the wonton chips and the potatoes sounded like the best things on the menu. We don't like shrimp and I hate coconut bread. Glad everyone else is happy, though; we'll eat CS somewhere and save the money!

Well...um...since my DW and three DS all have shellfish allergies, I guess they are out of luck. It looks like it'll be up to me to handle the shrimp. :goodvibes

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!! I loved the wontons :goodvibes

I am okay with all the other changes...but loved the wontons with the dip...yummy!!;)

Anyone else been here lately?

DH and I are considering cancelling, but maybe the changes will be for the better. :confused3

::sigh::

I was really looking forward to going back to Ohana on our upcoming trip, but I can't eat seafood and the only things on the menu I enjoyed were the wontons, the sirloin, the sausage, and the potatoes. It seems half of them are gone.

If they do return to the shrimp filled wontons, do you think they'll have a substitute for those who can't eat shellfish?

Probably not, since they have so many other offerings would be my guess, although we didn't get any wontons at all this past visit, and no offering of a substitute. I guess they figure most people aren't regulars like we DIS'ers!

I'm sad about the potatoes if they go, gosh I loved those! However the wings are the number one thing for me and I rarely had room for the meats at the end. I love to try the shrimp but can't stomach peeling them :scared1:.

We ate at Ohana on Thursday, the 24th. The waitress said the menu would be changing on Sunday (I assume the 27th). We were given the bread instead of wonton chips. It was a little dry, and no butter was offered. We had salad (seemed different, not good - lots of bitter greens). The veggies were different than in 2006 (not good). The potatoes were definitely different. In the past, you could tell they were homemade, sliced potatotes, with all the cream and cheese. This time they looked like scallopped potatoes from a box. We weren't given wonton chips, but were given sauce. The meats were either undercooked or very overcooked and bland if you didn't like the sauce. The server would NOT let us get a speciality drink on the DDP. There was no sausage offered (didn't want anyway). She said the shrimp in the bowl would go, but the skewered shrimp would stay. She also said stuffed wontons were coming back. I think she said the bread pudding would stay. We loved Ohana in 2006; this time, we thought it was pretty close to horrible. :(
