Ohana Itch?

If you are among those who stopped going to Ohana because of the quality issues I am hearing about, did you find another restaurant/experience that "took its place?" I am not suggesting that anything could take the place of Ohana in its prime....but have you found something that scratches that itch?

We were terribly unhappy with good quality at Ohana last trip and I got sick while there. It was not just chewy steak!

We are big Steakhouse71, Boma and Topolino's fans.

A bit of both. We remember the days of hula dancing and lessons led by an instructor, and amazing food all at the same time.

We are also on the DDP so that complicates things a bit.

We ate at O’Hanas mid-May…they had the noodles but they were thicker than I remember and nowhere as good. I said something to server but he insisted they were the same …no way. But I haven’t seen anyone mention this anywhere

So we used to drive over to Ohana for special occasions. Last time was our 2018 anniversary. We had noticed the meat quality going down for several years. So that was the last time and it's now off our list for good.
We go for the food, and I mean the meat not the sides, and not the themeing.
I'm just throwing this out there for your consideration. We now get our fix at the Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse on International drive. No affiliation, just good food. We're locals and aren't stuck in the bubble. I realize that but the food is excellent and a bit cheaper than Ohana. No, you don't get fireworks music piped in and you don't have a wandering ukulele player. Just the food.

I like Ohana, but I don't think I would return because of how expensive it is. Sebastian's Bistro is excellent value at nearly half the price, has a wide selection of pretty decent food, and the dessert is almost identical to Ohana's.

Steakhouse 71 has moved to the top of our list in general joining Narcoossee's as a must do.

When we're craving some of the sides like wings and noodles, we have them at Tambu Lounge and I've been more than satisfied. Even at its best I thought the whole experience is fun but overpriced for what you get.

Not really. We still don't mind Ohana for breakfast, so I suppose we get it that way. Ohana and Narcoossee's both went downhill around the same time (maybe around 10 years ago or so), but then Narcoossee's completely revamped the restaurant and menu and since it reopened it's once again up to par for us. So at least we got that back . Hoping at some point they will do a similar overhaul to Ohana to freshen it up and revamp the menu back to its former quality.

Stopped going to 'Ohana years ago. It used to be such a special place, they had a singer with a couple of people playing instruments, I seem to remember everyone getting a (plastic) lei, and the food used to be very good. For a theming experience, I enjoy Trader Sam's. The food menu is limited but it's a ton of Tiki themed fun.

Ooh, we passed that steakhouse on our last trip in March, and I wondered if it was good. We’ve just recently gone to a Rodizio in Tn, and enjoyed it. I think we’ll give the Fogo de Chao a try if we can work it into our October trip.

Ooh, we passed that steakhouse on our last trip in March, and I wondered if it was good. We’ve just recently gone to a Rodizio in Tn, and enjoyed it. I think we’ll give the Fogo de Chao a try if we can work it into our October trip.

I wasn't going to go into too much detail on here, I figured if folks were interested they could Google the menu, but all the meats on skewers, all you can eat. Giant salad bar with everything on it. They also have a side bar with other goodies.

I can't speak to the Orlando one but i've been to the Fogo de Chao in Rosemont (the town outside of Chicago where O'Hare is). We did it with a large work party and it was really good. Also not cheap but that's all Brazilian steakhouses.
