Ohana Discussion

I'm really interested in a discussion about 'Ohana. We are going to be trying it for the first time in September. Those dumplings look too good to miss! And, the bread pudding looks soooo good! I am so excited about our upcoming trip. It's DS' first trip to WDW and I really hope he enjoys it!

My ADR date is 7/5/09 and I want to try O'Hanas also. A friend of mine just got back and said there was so much food, they ate until they felt sick it was soooo good! I am excited to try it and hope I get a good ADR.

O'hana is one of our favorite places to eat in WDW! and the bread pudding is one of the best desserts ever
I also love the bread, salad and shrimp! I don't really enjoy meat so didn't have any but there is sooooo much food! you won't leave hungry!! We will be there again very soon!

LOL! Ditto!! Great dessert, salads, sides and shrimp. I enjoy some of the meats, but the shrimp is also my favorite. The dumplings are excellent, as are the chicken wings and noodles. EVERYTHING was tasty - even the broccoli!

You will not be disappointed. If there is anything specific you would like to know, just ask - I'm sure someone could answer for you.

We've booked it for the first time for our summer trip. I hear more about dinner than the character breakfast, but it would be nice if the characters were there for dinner as well.

I'm very interested in trying this bread pudding, but my 'Ohana ADR for my trip in August is for breakfast. I'm staying at the Grand and will likely stop over to the Polynesian for a late night cocktail at some point. Would I be able to order the bread pudding dessert from the bar?

Won't ever go near this place again. Check in was a nightmare line. Then told it would be a 20 min wait so we got a drink at the bar, before he could make them, a perky little girl was waiting to escort us to the table. She stood there with this frozen smile on her face while I attempted to get the drinks paid for (bartender was very busy). Table was enormous for 2 people, we could barely see each other and then the waiters started throwing food at us. Truly drop & run. Polynesian lady gave us a headache. could not get out fast enough. Do you get the feeling we didn't like 'Ohana? Hope your experience is better!!!

I also saw a post with the pictures of the meal and it looked so good!!! There is no way i am going to be able to cut down on eating while we are there.

We went to Ohana the 1st time on our last trip and we loved it! My DH is a super-picky eater and he loved it, and wants to go back on our next trip. The pot stickers, bread, noodles, shrimp, and turkey are my favs.

We're doing this on our arrival night right before MNSSHP in september, I LOVED Kona, so I'm hoping I love this one too!!! I can't wait!!

Love, Ohana! We always had the best servers and have never had dried out food like others have reported. The wings, shrimp, and bread pudding are so,so yummy. I am so happy we were able to get a reservation during our free dinning trip. You'll love it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE OHANA!!!!! =) It is my familys absolute favorite and we actually had 3 RSVP's out of our 7 night schedule. It does not disappoint, if you make a ressie around the time of Wishes, they dim the lights and pipe in the music from Wishes. It is great!
Can't wait til my August trip!

Love Ohana's! We always eat there whenever we are at Disney World. In fact, husband's upset right now becasue Icould not secure a ressie for it on our upcoming trip in Sep. Its completely booked all week we are there. Still trying though. Keeping our fingers crossed. We think the food is great and the service has always been good for us. Very popular because it is very good!

My family LOVED dinner at Ohana. Our next trip will include Ohana for sure! The kids had a blast interacting with the crowd, the server was great, the food was incredible. We just had a wonderful experience there!!

We are big fans of Ohanas. We love everything about it-the atmosphere, the servers, and especially the food. We eat and eat and eat! It's one of our must dos after Le Cellier.

I totally get what you mean! We ate here a few years, or so, back. Had early ADR's (only time we could get) we were a group of 3 put at a table for 8 (no one else with us). Our table was located in the back, near where you come in. View of the people coming in. We were too far from the games for DD to join in. By the time she got to them, they were already underway and we couldn't see them at all from our locale. About 1/2 way through our meal another group of 3 was seated at the table (for 8) next to us. It would have been nice if we could have been seated together, at least we would have someone to talk to. The starters were great! (before menu change) we asked for more. The meats were all awful-cold, tough, and not tasty. The dessert, from what I remember was okay. I think DD got the big bucket of snowcone they serve.

I don't know, but maybe we were there at a bad time. I think our ADRs were for just after they opened. Maybe that explains why the meats were cold and overcooked.

We have not been back for dinner, but we have done breakfast and have enjoyed that. We've had our final meal of the trip there the last 2 years. Have ADR for our last meal of this year as well. The food is good, the characters are ok (last year may have been a fluke-not so good). The juice is yummy. The eggs and bacon are very good. And Mickey waffles-Yum!

Perky as in Stepford wives. She literally stared at me from 2 ft away while I valiantly tried to get a check & pay for the drinks. It was creepy. She could have taken a step or two back, talked to my DD but no, she STARED at me with that Stepford smile!!! And the table was big enough for 8 people and set up with relation to the aisle that we had to sit at each end. I can't even describe how bad this experience was. I love drinks at the Poly but from now on, its either just drinks or Kona for us!!!
