Which one would you choose?
I realize Ohana does not have characters and the others do. We are trying to pick a monorail resort restaurant and can't seem to decide. Any thoughts on these?
If eating dinner, we really enjoy Ohana's, but if you want characters I would pick one the other two listed. If you don't care what characters I would go with 1900 park fair since it would be only one stop to the MK using the monorail.
You have actually chosen three places we have been in our limited time there. Chef Mickey's is an easy in, easy out restaurant with good food and great interaction with the Fab 5. Park Fare is a little nicer for food and characters. The wicked sisters are great and really ham it up. I was a little disappointed with Ohana, even though we were staying at the Poly. It was very loud and very active. My sons-in-law loved the meat oriented meal.
Chef Mickey's is a MUST for us on every trip but we have only ever done breakfast there. We tried 1900 Park Faire on our last trip, but I am a huge fan of the step sisters. They are a lot of fun and really are great. The prince may even dance with your little one.
We are doing Ohana this year as we have never done it before. Looking forward to it.
We love Ohana. We've always had great food there and the entertainment is fun. The kids get to hula dance and play games at certain points during the meal. It's relaxing and something different than the character meals. We usually take the time to eat there twice during our trips.
We were there mid-December and ate at 1900 Park Fare for dinner and Chef Mickey's for Breakfast and didn't care for either of them. 1900 Park Fare had very loud music and the characters were ok but don't compare to doing dinner at the Castle or eating with the Princesses at Epcot in Norway. Chef Mickeys' breakfast felt rushed and our server was terrible. The buffet food at both was unimpressive. I've heard good things about Ohana and would be more inclined to try that. I don't plan to eat at Park Fare or Chef Mickey's again.
Hands down...O'Hana. The food is great, the kids have a ball doing the hula dancing and coconut races. 1900 Park Fare is a close second. The character interaction is the best. The Evil Step Sisters get the whole family into the act and make a fuss over EVERY child. This is now a must of every trip. (This was our 3rd year eatting dinner there).
Sad to say but Chef Mickey's has certainly gone down hill. We eat there every trip because only because I have children. Breakfast is certainly better then dinner (if it is a must) but the place is so crowded that I almost felt like it was a bother to the characters to have their picture taken with my kids nevermind sign autographs. Will not be making a reservation for my 2011 trip.
Good luck with your decision but most importantly...enjoy your trip!!!
We have done Ohana and Chef Mickey and my kids prefer Chef Mickey sooo much more. We didn't seem to have much time with the characters at Ohana but lots of time at Chef Mickey.
having eaten at all 3 for both breakfast and dinner, I'd choose O'hana's. It's one of our fav. dinner restaurants. Even though there are no characters, the kids have fun and they get them up to do games etc. at some point during the meal. Having said O'hana, 1900 comes in 2nd. I prefer CM for breakfast rather than dinner.
While I love Ohana, if I were picking based on my daughter, I would pick 1900 Park Fare. We loved it in December. With that being said however, if you are already doing a princess meal, Chef Mickey's is definately my first choice.
