I tried to get a PS for Chef Mickey's today and they are booked!!!
The CM I talked to recommended O'Hana's Character breakfast instead so I made the PS, but I don't know anything about it so I'd love to hear some reviews! :) -- Also...is it outdoors?

We tried this breakfast last trip for the first time, and were highly unimpressed! Character interaction was OK, but the food was limited (in variety, not in amount) and the service was slow. Better choices are Chef Mickey's (if it opens up) or the Cape May Cafe Character Breakfast at the Beach Club (which is our absolute favorite -- a much bigger selection for about the same price as 'Ohana's).

It is indoors! The breakfast is standard( if forget what it is called) You get a platter of eggs, waffles, french toast, sausage etc. I was pretty good and has a great view! Try to get a table by the window if you can!!I highly recommend it!!

This is amoung the best Character meals that I have experienced.
I have done this one multiple times.

We absolutely LOVED this character meal. The food was great and there was plenty of it! The atmosphere is beautiful and we thought that the staff and characters were top notch.

On a personal note, we had one of the FUNNIEST experiences there. The characters and CM's do a fun parade with the kids....they play instruments and such while marching around the rest. Well, my DD was absolutely ticked off about the fact that we MADE her march in this parade. The pictures are hysterical because she has this horrible look on her face and she is shaking her marraca (sp?) and looking like someone died. My husband and I were laughing until the tears came. :rotfl: How dare we make our 6 year old have fun?.....we are the meanest parents in the world. She ended up having a great time....so should you, it's great!

We did the character breakfast at Ohana last May and we really enjoyed it, as did our ds's. They had a parade around the restaurant with Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale and our oldest son got to walk with Mickey in the front of the parade line. Our server was great and the food was excellent.

Pleese, pleese, pleese corect tha tittle ov th threadd...Itz 'Ohana, nut O'Hana's. Think ya, yoose mai know retern ta yer usuilly gramaticallie chalenged topick. :rotfl2:

It's a pet peever (the spelling of 'Ohana) and a joke (the rest). No harm meant.

We ate at Ohanas character breakfast last year and it was probably everyones favorite the food was good and plentiful. My mom said it was the best coffee of any of the places we ate and I think that the pineapple bread was wonderful, my grandaughter got lots of attention from the characters, my 20 year old wanted to go back to eat again and she is a very pickee eater
we are thinking about taking her to eat breakfast there when go see her in June. :cool1: :flower: :sunny:

Has anyone done this character meal recently? Do they still serve waffles? Pancackes? French Toast?

Have a picky eater in the family...no sausage bacon or eggs for them. But, they could put down some waffles and pancakes!

Thanks!

Lynn

October. Waffles.

The big difference between this and most of the other meals is that this one is served family style. Which means you'll get a platter of waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatos and biscuits for the table - they will bring more of anything you want. There are pros and cons with this approach:

PROS:

You sit and your food is brought to you (IMO, a really nice feature if you are travelling with children too young to handle their own buffet plates, but old enough to want their own buffet plates).

We believe the food is better quality and warmer this way, but it still isn't great.

You don't miss characters while at the buffet.

For the buffet o phobic, the chances your waffle has been groped by a six year old that is not your own kid go way down.

CONS:

The variety is much less than a buffet (although if you want something, ask, sometimes the kitchen can provide it).

The waiter brings food. That can mean a big difference in the experience if the waiter is good, or if the waiter ignores you and doesn't bring more bacon, or if the waiter seems to rush you.

If you don't like this, you might want to try the 1900 Park Faire Breakfast, which is a buffet, also on the monorail line.

Just to update this post....Characters have changed at this breakfast. Lilo & Stitch, Mickey & Pluto.

Same thing happened to us. Called to make an adr at Chef Mickeys and got
Ohana's. My dh & I liked it as it was quieter, more relaxing than Chef Mickeys....low key. Part of that was due to not having to get up every other minute for ourselves or the kids to the buffet line as it was served family style.

The kids like Chef Mickeys better, for the napkin waving, selection of food etc.

My sister likes Chef Mickeys better for the selection.

My fussy father went too and he ordered fried eggs instead of scambled and they arrived perfect....so, he was happy.

Differet atmposphere, but still good.
