Ohana...can you wait??

Question everyone. We've been trying to get a reservation for ohana in October and no such luck. Can you go to the restaurant and wait for a table or is a reservation required? Has anyone done this? I'm assuming it would be a pretty stiff wait.

Depends on the time of year. I can't comment on 'Ohana, but we did walk-ups (in September) and some places in the parks for lunches. But when we tried for dinner they said there was no availability.

Your best bet is to keep trying for an ADR. Even once you are at WDW. Folks cancel to avoid the no show fee. You may find an ADR the evening before. If you want to try a walk up go right at opening and ask. They do occasionally seat walk ups but it could be a long wait or you could be turned away. Have a Plan B

You can try, but do you really want to wait? 'Ohana used to be a family favorite, but if I could not get an ADR we went elsewhere. Wit so many restaurants to choose from I wold not waste valuable time waiting for an opening unless I was fine in the lounge enjoying a cocktail or two.....LOL!

There is always a standby line for dinner when we go and check in. It's pretty long, though, so I doubt everyone got in.

I went at opening a few weeks ago and they were making of list of walk-ups. They told me it would be at least an hour before they even attempted to start seating walkups. Keep checking as a few spots tend to open up a night or two before. But if not, I would probably go elsewhere.

Count me among those that wouldn't wait with no ADR. If they are sold out for the night you won't be seated, and as NancyG said, it's not what it once was.

We love Ohana, but I wouldn't want to waist the time to even try for a walk up. Keep trying every day and hopefully something will come up. Best of luck and hope you have a wonderful trip!

Most reservations open up the week you are going . That is when most people finalize their plans and end up canceling their Adrs. It has worked for me in the past.
