Hi Eveyone, Just booked our very first character breakfast ever!:cheer2: We chose Ohana because my oldest daughter (12) loves Stitch and youngest daughter (3) loves Mickey, my son likes anything :). I thought this way we could see both at once and please everyone! Do both characters always appear at breakfast together? Also, since it's located on the monorail line can we park our car there and then jump on the monorail for our day at Magic Kingdom? Or do you have to be staying at that hotel? Just trying to make it convenient! It's our first family trip, so it's all new to us! We are staying at POR. Thanks!

Ohana's is a great option. With a character meal, characters will visit every table, so you can get great pix of Stitch & Mickey. The Poly is on the Monorail line so yes you can go to the kingdom after bfast. Not sure about parking the car there for the day though. You can take the bus to the MK then the monorail to the poly. Hope it helps a bit though.

If you have your own car I would just park at the Polynesian resort, just let them know you have an ADR at ohanas and it will be no problem. You will be allowed to park for three hours.

Have fun and take some time to walk around and enjoy the poly, it's beautiful! Maybe even after breakfast, rent a couple mini boats at the marina. They are a blast!

'Ohana is a great option for your kids - and the food is wonderful. You will love the convenience of hopping back on the monorail to get to the MK park. :thumbsup2

We've done 'Ohana for breakfast 3 times now (I think) and we have always seen Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. The food is very good. :goodvibes In fact I just posted a few photos on another thread. Here they are

As for the parking, Poly is one of the strictest resorts about parking. Many times they will ask you to drive away slowly so they can note your license plate number. At night I have even had them ask me if I have an ADR and then they check a list. If you stay past your parking limit I don't know what they will do but it is definitely frowned upon. :confused3The Poly lot is one of the smallest ones.

You could park at the TTC first and then walk (or monorail) over to Poly. Then after breakfast jump on the monorail to MK. After you are done for the day you can take the monorail to the TTC and not worry about your car sitting all day (and evening?) at the Poly lot.

We loved Ohana's breakfast last year. We saw Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto and they were great. We have a picture of Pluto walking on on fours with our DD during the little parade.

You CAN NOT park at the Poly all Day. There is a three hour parking limit.

As the PP suggested the best idea is to park at the TTC and take the resort monorail to the Poly. Then after breakfast hop back on the monorail to the MK.

At the end of the day you can take the boat or monorail back to the TTC.

Thank You all for the quick replies! Ohana sounds great! What/Where is the TTC? Sorry, I'm new to all this info ;) but these forums are great for info. and things I would have never known!

The TTC, (Ticket and Transportation Center) is where you park to go to MK. You park your car and either walk or take a tram to the TTC. There you can take the express monorail or a boat to the MK.

Next to the express monorail is the Resort monorail. This monorail has stops at the Poly, GF, MK and Contemporary.

Yes, you will love Ohana!!! My husband and I have eaten there twice and the food was great both times!!! The characters stop at EVERY table!!!! Your kids will love it! Yes, you should park at the TTC and either walk over to the Poly or take the monorail to the Poly. When my husband and I stayed there in 2010 the monorail was running very slow and we decided instead of waiting in line we would just walk over to the Poly. It's not a long or difficult walk at all!! However, since you have kids, you may prefer taking the monorail over. Either way, that way you will not have to worry about parking and can go over to the MK from there.

We do DDP so we prefer the character breakfast buffets over Ohana, since the buffets have more of a selection. OOP, the Ohana breakfast is very expensive for what you are getting compared to buffets. BUT if your kids are Lilo & Stitch fans, it's a good one for them. You are really paying for the characters here.

I guess its a matter of "to each his own". When I've been to character buffetts I spent half the time affraid to get up because I was going to miss a character. I missed Tigger at CP and Donald at CM. The handler got Tigger to come over to our table, but with Donald I was out of luck.

I enjoyed being waited on at Ohana. The food came to me. As for variety, they bring you specialty breads, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, waffles and potatoes. Thats a lot of food! And they'll bring more of whatever you like.

I see what you're saying. When we eat at buffets, we go up based on where the characters are or opt not to spend a lot of time at each buffet station. But I have seen people miss them and it's not a problem for them to come back.

Sounds like a lot of food but thats standard breakfast food at $25+ a head. At Tusker House, you get all of that plus pastries, the African food, etc. for only a few dollars more.
