I've been looking at my ADRs for the umpteenth time and I'm considering altering or getting rid of my Ohana res. Our first morning will be Wed Aug 29th. Currently, I have an 8:45 Garden Grill (so we'd do Epcot our first day) and Ohana is scheduled the next day at 8:45. Well, I found a 7:35 Ohana for the 29th (putting us as MK for first day) and I could switch GG to next day at 8:10. Both would net us earlier times, which is awesome, but here's the thing-- I'm starting to doubt if we should even do Ohana at all. Character meal wise we've got GG, Akershus, Tusker, BonV, CP, & CM already, and I wanted Ohana mainly for Stitch and the aesthetic of the Poly/Ohana, but I'm unsure if those things alone are worth the price and limited menu (no bacon really!?). (I know, I know, "worth it" is subjective!) I think that reading reviews makes it seem like Ohana's quality has went down. Has it? Would you do Ohana if you already had the other CMs listed? I'm just looking for more opinions to help me decide whether to try it. :stitch2:

It's been a few years since I did Ohana breakfast but I was not impressed at all. The food wasn't anything special, the service wasn't great and it was just chaotic in general. Mickey skipped our table completely, so we told our server and we had to wait 30 minutes for him to come back around. In my opinion, you already have a ton of character breakfasts, so I don't think you will miss anything by not doing Ohana. I've got the best character interaction from Stitch when he is meeting in Tomorrowland.. there usually isn't a long line for him if you catch him right when he comes out.

I didn't realize Stitch did meet-and-greets in Tomorrowland! I haven't starting looking closely at character locations yet, and I guess I assumed he didn't meet in the park because his ride is intermittent now. Thank you!

I am 99% sure they do have bacon (unless it has changed very recently). It was breakfast breads and fruit. Followed by eggs, mickey waffles, potatoes, bacon, sausage and biscuits. I personally enjoy the family style character breakfasts more than buffets, but YMMV.

We did Ohana last year in June for the first time- I had always wanted to do it- we love character meals. My family was greatly disappointed. The food was average at best- very so so- and not a big selection at all- we all left a little disappointed. The characters were fine- a little rushed but I realize this is subjective to the the particular time you are there- just happens sometimes. Glad we got to see Lilo- never seen her before- you can find Stitch in Tomorrowland and we’ve seen him before at Hollywood Studios but it was several years ago.
We had never been to Poly and for that- am glad we went- but it is not on our list to return again.

Keep in mind the 8:10 reservation at GG is an EMH morning at Epcot (I know because I had that time reserved on Aug 30 and dropped it when I realized it wasn't PPO), so if that was your reason for wanting that one early, that could be a decision maker.

As for Ohana, it's always a must do for us because of Stitch and I always like to see the Poly. The breakfast itself is just okay and I find the service there has never been outstanding for us, just acceptable. The change to no bacon happened just before our last trip (last August) and I admit that was a bit of a bummer, but I have since read several people say they have gotten bacon upon request.

Oh crap, how on Earth did I miss the EMH for that date! Yes, that actually was a big part in choosing that time (thinking it was PPO). Thanks for pointing that out! I'm now thinking I should save some of our CMs for the second park day of each park, that way we don't have to feel rushed.

They got rid of the bacon??

bummer!

I really enjoy the character interaction there, Pluto is usually amazing (check my avatar pic), however, from all the character breakfasts we've been to over the years, Ohana is the one that takes the longest. You are never seated on time, food takes ages to arrive, the characters are on rotation but usually when they are about to stop at our table they either take a break or have to go dance around the restaurant, our server forgets about us, we don't get the check even after asking for it a couple of times, etc... so... it's not a quick meal and can definitely cut into your park time.

Well while I never ear treyf my friends who have gone have said they served ham but when they asked for bacon it was cheerfully brought to them.

This is basically how I do it, or at minimum if I know I'm at each park twice I do a resort breakfast on only one of them and a PPO in park for the other. One early morning get right to it kind of day and the 2nd one a bit more relaxed.

We loved this breakfast, had great service and didn’t find it chaotic at all. Our waiter kept bringing my DS pitchers of the juice because he loved it so much.

However, you do have a lot of character meals. I’d probably skip it if all of the other ones were more important to my family.

Breakfast at 'Ohana is my 12 year old granddaughter's and my husband's number 1 choice for breakfast.

They do ham now instead of bacon. You can ask for bacon though and they will give it to you.

We love Ohana breakfast. We love Ohana dinner. But Stitch with Lilo is a must do for us. I also like the idea of family style over buffet which is why I like Garden Grill. Akershus breakfast was not my favorite. All of them are pretty much the same with the exception of Tusker house that offers a wider variety of foods and CRT which has several dishes to choose from but I didn't think CRT breakfast was worth the money even though it is in the castle. We love the Stitch juice so much my daughter wanted to use it for the Mimosas at her wedding.

We originally had a breakfast scheduled at Ohana, but we ended up getting rid of it. I just couldn't justify the cost for what they were serving. I also found out we could meet Stitch at MK and that was the only reason we would've gone to Ohana for breakfast (Stitch is our niece's favorite character).

We went to Ohana breakfast about 1 1/2 years ago and it was nice. Our food was well prepared. The eggs were very light, fluffy and warm. Everyone found something they liked and left quite full. The wait was on par with other ADRs. It did not seem any more rushed, chaotic, or loud than most other character breakfasts. We were staying at Polynesian and the ease of going to this breakfast I am sure did not hurt my impression.

Just like you, we did quite a few character meals on our trip. I think we found Tusker House to be our favorite in it had a good breakfast food, good atmosphere, quick moving, and good service. I really think it is a hidden gem at Disney. Hive and Vine breakfast was our least favorite in it was slow, crowded, noisy, and worst food. Cyrstal Palace was enjoyable, but extremely slow with stations at time running out of food. It just felt understaffed for a restaurant of that size. Ohana fit somewhere in the middle with a comfortable/delightful experience. Akershus food was different, more interesting, but still very good. The atmosphere was festive, but the restaurant a little too compact for what they were trying to pull off. Overall I have a favorable review of Akershus and would do again, however it is not top of my list.

Since Ohana fit somewhere in the middle, I would probably only do breakfast if I was staying at Polynesian. It is not worth a special trip for that character breakfast, but I would definitely have no problem scheduling it again if I was already staying at the resort.

Not sure if that helps.

Personally, I'd skip it. But we didn't enjoy the food here at all. Everything was poorly cooked and there is no variety. Just a few simple items you can find at most resort quick service locations. Aside from the juice at least. Characters were fun, but unless you absolutely positively must see Stitch I'd drop it.
