Ohana: breakfast or dinner?

Hello!

My family and I will be taking our first trip in March! We currently have a reservation for breakfast at Ohana, as well as a reservation for dinner at Ohana during our stay. Due to budgetary restrictions, we will need to drop one of these.

I’m aware that Ohana is a character meal for breakfast, but I’ve heard how great the food is for dinner. We already have another character meal during this stay (breakfast at Chef Mickey’s) that we are really looking forward to.

My question, which reservation should we keep? I am excited to hear your opinions. Thanks!
I hear breakfast at Ohana is pretty good but my advice is that if you do choose dinner over breakfast, try to make ADR before 9 or even earlier than 8. I've eaten there with my family at 9 and the food was overcooked, cold, and the waitstaff had seemed that they were in a hurry to end the night.

OP’s trip has already passed per their original post. Hopefully, they were pleased with whatever decision they made.

If budget is a great concern I personally will drop Ohana dinner. To me Ohana dinner is like spending money for a brand new Mercedes Benz but they serve you a Yugo instead. Food is like a Russian Roulette but the problem is the revolver has only 1 or 2 empty chambers. The rest are loaded with screws. I don’t want to get screwed.

MTE!!! It was the absolute worst meal my family has ever had in WDW in over 10 years. This restaurant was a must do for my family every trip, but the last time we dined there was teh last time for us. It was expensive, which on it's own did not matter because we used the DDP, but had I paid OOP I would have insisted on my money back. Between terrible food and a server who was hiding from eh table from Hell best to us, and children out of control the entire night was horrible.

I know this is an old thread, but it is my current dilemma. We’ve had dinner before, and know we enjoy it (bread pudding is amazing!) The last time we ate there, we didn’t have a child yet. Now we now have a 4 year old, and it will be his first official Disney trip. From what I understand, the characters will be back at breakfast when we are there, so I’m torn between doing breakfast and characters, and the dinner I know we love. We are staying at Poly this time too, so getting to either one will be a breeze. Help! What would you do?

I'd drop both and mobile order the Tonga Toast some morning. Portions are just massive, and the value isn't there.

I don't view the noodles or potstickers as anything special. But I have many, much better Asian choices in my home city. I do like the wonton nachos, also available on mobile order. Looks like the bread pudding is on mobile order too. I'd just mobile order and take it to the pool.
