Ohana: breakfast or dinner?

Dinner is the best for us. Breakfast is just okay with your standard American fare. Unless you need to see Lilo & Stitch, I'd prefer go during dinner. :thumbsup2

I have never done Breakfast at O'hana but unless you or your group are really excited to meet Lilo and Stitch I would go with dinner. Is it pricey? Yes, But We have done their dinner twice and both times enjoyed it immensely and we have had great service and excellent food. You feel like you are on vacation in the Poly, and if you get an earlier reservation its a great way to break up a MK day... Even an early 7:30AM breakfast Reservation there will prevent you from doing a rope drop at MK

We were there for breakfast and dinner about a week ago and dinner is way better.

Breakfast is a typical Disney breakfast with POG juice, you can still ask for a plate of bacon and they bring it right out for you.
Aloha attire Mickey, Lilo, and Stich made their way to each table. Aloha attire pluto was near he door for a family picture after your meal.
Breakfast is still good, but due to how. busy it was Mickey, Lilo, and stich took awhile to make their way around.

Dinner was good with it's Asian Hawaiian menu. Steak and chicken were good, but shrimp was pretty over. Mandoo and noodles were very good. I live in Hawaii and the noodles were better than most places here.
Plus Lapu Lapu!

Yes - they did. But we asked our server for a side order of bacon for my DD - as she will not eat ham - and they brought a huge plate for the whole family at no additional charge.

Thank you, that's good to know.

Dinner. Book it around 8 PM and you'll catch the fireworks. Kona Cafe is the spot for breakfast, no doubt.

Stick with their dinner! It was amazing. We even got to see the fireworks and they played the music in the restaurant that goes with the show. We had breakfast at Kona Cafe next to Ohana and that was great too. So that's an option for bfast.

Keep the dinner.

We did both this last trip and dinner was the absolute highlight meal of the whole trip. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Breakfast was a blast because we had really good character interactions, but the food was definitely nothing special.
It was the highlight meal for us too. Could not believe how amazing it was!

I would not recommend Ohana for dinner. It is very overpriced for the quality of the food. It was the most disappointing meal of our trip. Even the staff said it was "hit or miss"!

Ohana Breakfast is currently my least favorite sit down dining option. The juice is really good, but the meal itself defines lack of options. There's no buffet to visit - you have to rely on your waiter to bring you a platter of food, and there's not much to choose from (Bacon, Sausage, Waffles, Potatoes, Scrambled Eggs, Fruit... that might be it). It you're looking for any healthy food options besides the fruit you won't find it. I'd rather eat at the Disney Jr breakfast in HS if that says anything, just to get some variety in the food options.

I don't recall what the Dinner gives you, but I do remember seeing the MK fireworks go off in the distance while we ate which was kind of neat.

Dinner definitely is what I'd keep. For those who say it is the worst meal ever, I can say that not every time I have sat down to a table service meal at any/all Disney restaurants that I came away saying it was 100% excellent. Even off property, places are going to be "hit or miss". I have had dinner at Ohana about 8 times now and it is my family's favorite. We have had one meal we left disappointed, but that was due to an overwhelmed server who was dealing with a table of guests with food allergies and he did not handle it well. Was there last in July and had an excellent meal, excellent service, tasty food and well worth what we paid out of pocket for it.

If budget is a great concern I personally will drop Ohana dinner. To me Ohana dinner is like spending money for a brand new Mercedes Benz but they serve you a Yugo instead. Food is like a Russian Roulette but the problem is the revolver has only 1 or 2 empty chambers. The rest are loaded with screws. I don’t want to get screwed.
:lmao: :rotfl: This is hilarious and very accurate. I would also drop dinner. To me, the food quality was very poor ...slimy wings, dry meat, dry potstickers, soggy salad. And our ADR was at 530pm. Not a fan at all. Had i paid cash and not been on the DP, i would've been so ticked. So ya, i'd definitely drop dinner.

Agree with the PPs about the breakfast food being pretty uninspired. Stitch was a fun character interaction, but do you know what I really hated? It was DARK in there. Not a single picture turned out to be useable. Kind of defeats the purpose of a character breakfast to not come away with cute pictures of the kids and the characters.

Dinner. And if you can get it at the same time of MK fireworks that is a +. Also, save room for the bread pudding.

Have dinner at 'Ohana's and if you long to try the Tonga toast which really is the only unusual breakfast dish @ "Ohana's, opt for the Capt. Cook version at the resort's QS.
