Ohana and Wishes?

I think I've read somewhere that Ohana is a good place from which to view the Wishes fireworks show. Can anyone fill me in on their experiences with that? Specifically:

How good was the view?
Can they be seen from anywhere in the restaurant or only from certain sections?
Do they pipe in the musical soundtrack?
Did you need to make your PS as early as possible or would it be OK to wait until park hours are available so you can know when the show will run? (We're going in the first week of November)?
If you were going back to a non-monorail resort, how tough was it to get back using the WDW buses?

When I made our PS, I requested to be by the windows - and that's where we were seated We could see the castle.

When the fireworks begin, you can see them from pretty much everywhere..the seating/waiting area would be the only spot that couldn't really see, I would think.

I'd make your PS for a Saturday or Sunday night...check here for the past operating hours.

We were staying at OKW, and thought we'd catch the bus to DTD and transfer from there...this was the only hassle in an otherwise lovely evening...What ACTUALLY happened was that we waited FOREVER for a bus from the Ploynesian to DTD, but because Epcot and MK had just closed, all buses were servicing those parks...a CM radioed for a bus for us, but nothing happened. We ended up catching the LAST, most CROWDED monorail ever to Epcot, and caught the lst bus to OKW.

Advice...call a cab

No, you can't see them from everywhere. The restaurant has a step in it that makes the people next to the window slightly lower then the others in the restaurant... we were seated in a section that was completely blocked to the Castle view (behind the firepit), there are many seats that cant' see it... you are welcomet o walk around and see it, which many people did, but since you aren't sitting, you have to bend over in order to see it because of the height difference. It became a pain in the rear (actually back) to bend over, so we went back to our table. Those around us were indifference to the fireworks, they didn't realize it was going on or didn't care... only those on the other side really noticed, since they could actually see it.

Yes, the music is piped in, but other than that, business went on as usual.

If you want a seat, I would wait until park hours are posted and make a PS for an hour before the fireworks, arrive a bit early, and request a window seat to view it. Then be willing to wait a bit, if there is any =)

We had already seen Wishes and it wasnt that important to us, so we didn't bother... From what I could see in that 2 min I stood bending over to view it, it was gorgeous =)

We have PS for Ohana's on Oct. 9 (Sat.) for 6:30pm.

Does anyone know historic times of the fireworks for MK in Oct.? Are we likely to see Wishes with this PS time?

That day is my DS 6th bday and I told CM when making PS.

Should I call back (being a pain--I think) and request next to window?

We sat at the first table as you walk in, right in front of the pit and we could see Wishes just fine (oh except for the people at the table in front of us who were "leaving but just standing there talking ). Other than those rude people we had a great view--oh and they dim the lights to give you a better view.
