There are no reservations available at Ohana for the entire week we will be staying at the poly. my questions are:

1)Has anyone had experience when all adrs are gone just walking up to the restaurant at opening and getting seated fairly quickly??? we are only a party of 2. Do they leave tables available for walk ups?

2) If we dine at kona instead, can we order the Ohana dessert? Anyone know how much it would cost?

That is a GREAT question. I don't have the answer - but I will be watching for it!

I wonder that too. Surely just because you can't get an ADR for a restaurant doesn't mean that you CAN'T go to it!!

Our last trip in 2008 we couldn't get in to Ohana at all! So, we decided to just have drinks in the lounge of the restaurant and try Kona. Our waiter in the lounge was so sweet and we made small talk with him. Then he asked us if we were eating at Ohana tonight. I said no, we couldn't get an ADR. He told us to wait right there and came back with a pager! I couldn't believe our luck! Needless to say, DH gave him a nice tip and we ate at Ohana! I'm trying to remember what time we went into the lounge, I think it was 5pm. Always keep trying though. I've been able to get ADR's for restaurants while at Disney in my hotel room! You just never know!:goodvibes

Anyhow, yes Kona does have the Ohana bread pudding dessert. Several people have said they were able to order it no problem! I don't know how much it costs though.

When are you going to Disney? That will be a factor in how easy it may be to get a table. Kona would be a better bet for a walk-up I'd think. We were able to get a Kona ADR one night when the Aloha Luau got rained out the same night. Good luck!!:goodvibes

We have been to Ohana a few times and I have overheard guests that don't have reservations and the CM. Depending on different days we have been there the sugestions I have heard... Try Kona, put on stand-by list and may have to wait till 9pm (this is at 5pm). I have also heard people turned away saying no openings for the night.

We were there the last week of March, I checked the night before we wanted to eat there no reservations, but in the am checked with the front desk they had a cancellation of 6 we had a party of 4 and just had to tell them 2 cancelled. So give it a try when you are there. It was our best dining reservation, we had 8:20 res. sat at 8:05 had a seat near the window looking out at the castle, they entertained the kids and the food was awsome and abundant.:cool1::cool1:

Thanks for the replies! this is a real last minute trip- we are going April 27-May 1st. we are staying at the Poly and was really hoping to do the Luau or ohana, but both were completely booked for the week (Chef mickey's was booked too :( I had no problem getting a discounted room at the last minute but adrs are crazy full.)
