We are going in Sept and I would like to know what time people would suggest I make my PS's at 'Ohana in order to see the Electrical Water Pageant and the fireworks over the MK? I was thinking around 7...figuring wed be seated by 7:30-7:45. I am going with the assumption that there will only be fireworks on Saturdays during our stay and that they will be at 8:30-9 pm based on historical hours.

Last time I went (March 2001), I made a PS for 7 pm and we were not seated until 8 pm!! We missed the fireworks (well, we stood in the lounge and watched but it wasnt what I had hoped for) and that was one of the biggest disappointments of the trip.

Anyone have any recommendations for PS time on Sat in Sept to see the fireworks?

We celebrating our 9th anniversary last year with dinner at 'Ohana and had a lovely time. It was quite busy in the restaurant that night. Looking back at my itinerary notes, I see we made a ps for 7:40. I think we waited about 20 minutes or so to be seated. I think the fireworks went off either at 8:30 or 9:00. I asked for a table near a window so I don't know if that added to our wait. I do know they were telling walk-ups the wait was 45 minutes and I had to fight my way through a crowd to get to the podium. I'm glad I made a ps.

Not sure if this helps or not - we were there over Thanksgiving week so that may have added to our wait. Have a great trip!

I've never understood why people are so insistent on watching the fireworks from inside 'Ohana.

Why not get an earlier PS, have dinner, then hang out (if you're not staying at the Poly, you can walk around, explore, maybe shop) until the fireworks start, then go watch them from the Poly beach? Grab a chaisse or sit in a hammock or a swing if you can get one.

It's sure easier than trying to do all that shucking and jiving to get to just the right table at just the right time. Too much pressure, man... you're on vacation!!

Just my $.02...

I totally agree with this! To me there is no better place to watch the fireworks than from the Polynesian beach. And there's no better place to eat than 'Ohana.

I agree 100%%%

We had a lovely dinner at 'Ohanas - 7:00 PS, then walked down to the beach and found a hammock. The fireworks started at 9:00 and it was a perfect way to end our day.

What about the Luau at the Polynesian?? Can you see the fireworks where you are seated? Is there a special place we should request to sit? Is the Luau on the beach or elsewhere?
Thanks!! Pyedog

I'm sorry you were disappointed, but remember: you're not guaranteed to see fireworks from Ohanas. It's not billed as a fireworks show.

Pyedog,
You will probably not be able to see the fireworks from where you are seated at the luau. The seating area is covered by a roof. We did the 8:00 pm show last time and I remember not being able to see the fireworks
