Ohana @ 9:30PM too late?

ADR for May. Only time available is 9:30PM. I made the reservation but would like to know if that is enough time. This will be the last night of our vacation - no early AM appt - and it's only a married couple of two!

What do you think? What can we expect?

Will it work or is it too late?

LOL. Exact same scenario.... DH & I will be there in may as well...
Fireworks are at 9 the night we are going....Dinner at 9:30.

I plan to get to the Polynesian around 8-8:30, grab a Lapu-Lapu from the bar, and head down to the beach to watch wishes .
Then go eat....

We also are leaving the next day to go home.....Not early either. I say it is a good plan

It's a lot of food to sleep on. I would have a problem with it because when I leave I am so full I need time to digest it. If it's not a problem for you go for it.

Yes the timing makes it so that we would be too full.
But we are staying off property and we are late owls.
The park closes at 11:00pm that night so there still may be some activites going.

Hint: if Ohana is already so booked that the first available ADR is at 9:30 pm, you are not going to get seated until a few minutes after that. Or maybe a few hours after that.

Seriously, Ohana is known for running a *trifle* late in seating people. You are not likely to be able to go to anything in the parks after a 9:30 seating unless the MK has EMH until, say, 3 am that night. 11 pm close? Well, the busses will run until at least 12, so you'll be OK to get a ride back to your resort, but that's about it.

When we were there in September, we could only get a late reservation...I believe 9:15pm. We got there around 830, hoping we'd get seated earlier. Unfortunately, as one of the previous posters said, they were running behind and we didn't get seated until about 930. The service was terrible. We were seated in the very back of the restaurant (near the restrooms), in a corner, the food was great as always, but they were cleaning up, running vacuum cleaners, and couldn't get refills on drinks, much less seconds of food. I expected them to turn out the lights and lock the doors at any minute. lol We'll return as we love the food and atmosphere (usually) at 'Ohana, but I hope I'm never seated this late again. There was no entertainment....no one giving out leis....no games or songs. Keep trying to get an earlier reservation is my recommendation.

I agree about Ohana generally running behind in seating people, last summer I had an ADR for around 7 (I don't remember the exact time) but we waited nearly an hour to be seated and that was with an ADR. I think it was a mistake and not the rule, but generally they seem to run slightly behind on a regular basis. Most times we've eaten there, we've been seated within half an hour of our ADR time (sometimes quickly and sometimes we waited a little while), so that's not a problem for us.

After waiting about 45 minutes last summer I asked if there was a problem with our ADR and the girl at the podium looked at me, took my name again and said she totally forgot about us! Maybe that's what I get for looking young and going to the podium by myself, maybe she thought I was waiting on others or something. I don't know, surely enough it was just a small oversight and I doubt it happens all the time. After I asked if everything was okay we were seated within 10 minutes.

As far as eating late goes, I don't see a problem with it, but it's just up to you if you mind eating a heavy meal at that hour. Maybe things might be a little calmer since you've passed the prime dining hour? The only reservations I could get for Ohana's this summer was 8pm and beyond, but I think those times will be fine.
