Oh why can't we be in a cozy dvc villa right now?!!!

OP, add me to your neighbors. We are here in the panhandle of West Virginia (Charles Town) (I work in DC via the MARC train). We are well over 2 feet of snow and it's still snowing here. We, obviously, still have power, but have seen many folks in VA and MD (and DC) have lost power and that it going to be hard for them. We are still looking at another 6-9 inches before it's done tonight. Luckily for us, we don't have the winds that areas south of us are getting, but we sure are getting more than our share of snow. Pretty sure the Federal Government will be closed on Monday, and if Metrorail outside stays shut down, not sure when we will get back to work!

Here's the sad part, this time last week I was walking around EPCOT and it was 76 degrees out!!! But with my next trip 4 weeks away today, I at least have something to focus on.

My DH is out pushing snow with his 4 wheeler w/snow blade and he'll be out all day because he won't stop until all of our neighbors are taken care of !

We're in Severn, Maryland and the snow is ridiculous! And Orlando is going to be 66 degrees today. Sheez!

The snow still hasn't stopped here! I'm west of Philadelphia and we are buried in it!

I spent my snowy night last night...booking our flights and ordering our kid's passes from Undercover tousit!

It was snowing outside, but my mind was pure Disney!

uh oh..I thought it was one of their tree's but just went out and checked, it is 2 feet on my side of the fence.. busted their fence..big ol' pine...time to go to lowes for a new chainsaw chain...bummer

DMom and her caregiver are without power in Cape May. Police are notified about the fact that they are living there. They do have a gas fireplace that's working. I hope things get better for them.

:)South Central PA here. We have at least 20" and it is still snowing. WDW dreaming! Oh, and we are expecting another snowstorm Wed. into Thurs.

For all of you who are dealing with this, especially those without electricity, take care and stay safe.

I was thinking about that earlier, MinnieGi good to see another member from the metropolis of Hockessin

Nice to meet you bookwormde! Not too many of us from DE let alone Hockessin on the Disboards!! :) Hope you're hanging in there with this storm!

We live in central Jersey, just above Route 78 - skies are brightening a bit - hope your Mom is OK and the power is back on soon. What a hassle for her at her age.

We live near Annapolis and I am wishing we had hopped on a plane this morning LOL!

We are NOT too far from you....in Severn. It is sooooooooooooooo bad out there isn't it?!! Just intense snow.

Howdy neighbor!!!! We live in Severn too. :thumbsup2 Our power went off twice in the 5 to 5:30 a.m. time frame but that has been it. SO FAR SO GOOD.

We cleared out the driveway & sidewalks last night before bed & we had about 12" last night by midnight then I measured another 14" at 8:00 this morning from over night... So a total by 8:00 am of 26". WhooHoo only about another 8 hours more to go!!

This was looking out at our front sidewalk this morning from a sidelight window by our door:

I hope they have water & flashlights. The gas FP is a great thing!

Instead of stuck in our homes DURING A BLIZZARD. I live between D.C. and Baltimore and this weather is just CRAZY!!!! I would love to be at any DVC resort right now.....I would take any of them. I am done with WINTER.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WE GO TO HHI this July...bring on the HEAT.

We are in Clinton, Maryland and thankfully, we still have heat, as there are several hundred thousand customers with power outages in the dc-md-va area. I've lost two tall (30 plus feet) cedar trees over night - the weight of the snow has them on the ground. The snow was 2 feet tall against my patio door and when I opened to let the dog out - I had to scrape the snow away to get it to close again. Then, the dog (elkhound) was so happy in the snow, she didn't want to come back in! Plus I was afraid she would climb over the fence where the snow was really deep - all this in my Tinkerbelle robe! She's back in now and she's not getting back out unless I have her on a long leash.

I was at BWV until Jan 22nd and I wish I was still there!

DSis visited them yesterday and left fresh batteries and extra water. We'll all feel better when the blizzard is behind them, so things can get back to normal.

Bobbi

PS. In the past, the Cape May police have been wonderful, actually checking in on them when there was a question/concern.

Still here in Charles Town, WV and our fence is slowly disappearing. My DH pushed our drive way out, but he said it was nearly impossible to do even with a 4 wheeler and snow blade. He's usually out helping others, but the snow has beat him down and he's inside now for awhile. Our snow drifts are well over 4 ft in some areas. We are lucky that we still have power, but we also have a generator to use if needed and a woodstove and plenty of wood!

We live in Coulmbia MD, during the school year and York,PA when schools are closed. We came up to PA on Thursday night because it was supposed to be better up here. DH is a snow plow driver in MD and felt we were better off up here. Well I woke up this morning and no heat. VIA phone DH thinks it is a bad breaker which means no heat til he gets home and that doesn't look like it will be happeneing any time soon. He said they aren't even doing their regular routes right now instead it has been about helping the state workers keep snow emergancy routes open for ambulances. I swear I hate snow. We went to WDW for Christmas this year and were supposed to leave the day of the storm in December. We had to postpone the trip a few days, DH couldn't come with us due to being emergancy personel so we cut the trip short and now have 75 points in holding. I swear I hate snow. Rant over.

Chiming in from Fairfax, VA. Having just moved down from Connecticut I am used to snowstorms like the one taking place right. While it snows I am busy setting up my new apartment. And eveytime I unpack a piece of my Disney decor I wish that I was at my other "home," Old Key West.

WHAT? No pictures of this one?!

(PS) sorry about your trees - that bites

I feel for my fellow DVC'rs in the East! We were on the western edge of the storm here in west central Indiana and its terrible! We couldn't get out if we wanted too, snow plows have buried our driveway....and to make matters worse the Weather Channel keeps talking to the fella at The Atlantic City "Boardwalk" reminding us of our DVC Boardwalk vacation in July, so far away......Shawnpirate:pirate:
