I heard that when AK first opened, there was a short-lived boat ride at the base of the tree of life (the canal is still there) that went from one end of the canal to the other, but it was a one way trip only. Along the ride there were two dragons having a firefight across the canal . . . these dragons were what prompted the big dragon in the center of the AK logo, supposedly. Obviously now the boat trip is gone, and I have never seen any pictures of the dragons, nor ever heard firsthand of anyone who has seen them. Were they ever really there, or is it just a rumor? And even better, if they were, does anyone have pictures?

There is the one made of "ROCK" that is clearly visible from the bridge that takes you to "Camp Minnie-Mickey" (on the right as you enter the area.)

Its designed to look like a "natural" rock formation and I think it has a water feature.
I remember it used to "belch fire" (gas-jet) periodically, but it doesn't anymore.
Even my PAL MICKEY says to look for it.

The rock dragon is now a waterfall and it's still there, fairly easy to see if you look over the bridge (right hand side) as you go from Discovery Island into Camp Minnie Mickey. Sometimes it's spouting water and sometimes not, so look carefully (it's not that hard to see) if you don't immediately see a small waterfall.
