Oh what a horrible trip!!!! Now for something completely different-Final blast ......

I miss the old 20,000 Leagues ride. :(

Anyway, it's nice to see bits of it still remain in DL. That really is an awfully tight space, though! :crowded:

No monorail ride? I'm not sure it officially counts as a Disney trip if there's no monorail ride. :rotfl2:

Wow. I cannot believe I was as far behind as I was. :worried: pathetic!

Seriously though...I am so confused as to what day, where I am, that I actually am hosting my dinner club tonight...and I thought it wasn't till next Monday! Talk about a scramble.

LOVE the Lilly Belle, how neat is that! Darling pics with Pluto and tea time with Minnie. Something about toontown just makes me smile! But oh, 20,000 Leagues! How that takes me back. Cannot wait for April!!

I am very happy to say that I have a relatively free weekend, and it feels SOOOO good!

I bet it does. I hope to have more time in a couple of weeks. I will expand on that soon.

And when I finally get time to visit over her, this is what I find!
 :crazy2: :scared1: :faint:

Oh how sorry a group would be if I were on that ride with them now. :sad2:

Well crud, I meant to put a warning in for you but with the DIS acting up and
playing the " I am not going to show you I actually posted and tell you I didn't game" I never did. :worried:

I hope I didn't stress you out and you could go to an open window and breathe in fresh air. ;)

It was close in there. :crowded:

I bet that helps the 'aroma' of the monorail a bit. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: The monorail also has a horn!!!! I found that out there too!

The WDW one has one too - I heard that during the 1/2.

Wow...Nemo sure is different in DL than it is at DW. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable in that tiny little space on that little boat.

I'm anxious to see the fireworks and Fantasmic photos.

That Nemo is what the old 20,000 leagues under the sea was but even then the I feel the 20,000 had a bit more room.

I also felt there was very little Nemo. In fact I no pictures with any Nemo characters in it. :confused3

Hopefully tonight - then I will get caught up again.

Well, I know what ride John and I won't be going on when we go back to DL.

That's a little too close for comfort, at least for us. :scared: :faint:

I really miss DL, but every time I start to price a trip I'm convinced the costs and benefits going to WDW is so much better for us. We'll just have to see. :)

That space was tight!!!! I was second to last in but honestly I am not sure how I would felt being further in. Just my safety background but I want a quick way out.

I am lucky I will already be out that way for my conference next year so I can add it on. Now just to get the time off. :rolleyes1

Pat, I fell terribly behind, so I'm trying to get caught up.

I am behind everywhere myself. This working for a living is taking up so much of my time lately. :rotfl2:

First off, congrats on the 1/2! Jeni and I are on track to run the Princess Half in 2015. We missed the registration for the 2014 race, and it filled up so fast, it was ridiculous! I'm super excited, I always wanted my first race to be a Disney race.

Great that you planning for 2015 but boo that 2014 filled so fast. Disney races are the best. I really need to get back in gear an go back to running. I blame the working thing again...

No shame in forgetting to take pictures, but that does make sense why you called it a horrible trip. :rotfl2:

I have to ask myself that all of the time. Who wears heels in Disney?!

I actually uttered those words. :rotfl2: But yes because of what I felt were a lack of "proper" pictures.

The foot wear I see continues to amaze me sometimes.

Love the GC! Because my business trip in April was so last minute, we couldn't get the whole time at GC, but still loved it.

Cool, you could see WOC from your verandah!

I loved those Mickey waffles in DLR. They were so yummy.

We had a huge line for entry one of our days too. It was absolutely insane. We had to go all the way back to Whitewater Snacks.

I felt very lucky to even get a room- I credit the website being down so NOONE could make reservations. I called back early and it was up. Score.

I did request a room with an even better head on view but that room was pretty awesome.

I think I was amazed at the amount of great crispy bacon I got with those waffles. :lmao:

I think on my last day it was down to WWS and doubled back. :eek

Aladdin is most definitely a don't miss. It's my favorite Disney show. The Genie is just hysterical.

Yup. ToT did that to me the first time we rode it too.

I admit to riding Heimlich's Chew Chew train with my Mom. It was cute. I couldn't resist. He chews and makes noise while you ride.

That stinks that you spent your whole EMH waiting. We didn't have any problems when we visited, but that would have been disappointing.

Aladdin was the first thing I ran to. A great show !!

I tell you being in similar rides was odd at times.

A bug life was pretty empty and maybe it was during morning EMH so it wasn't running so I never worked up the nerve to ride.

I am glad when you went the kinks were worked out. Hope they stay that way when I go back next fall. I guess my biggest gripe about that was that you were not offered a FP or anything. Either sit and wait or get out of line. Didn't seem very Disney to me.

Isn't the real silverware and dish ware thing at CS in DLR just crazy. It's like in WDW we're hillbillies. :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Next trip I need to try more CS at DL. Flo's will be a repeat for sure.

Pat I started the TR!!!

I saw!!! I posted !!!

That submarine looks soooo neat!! Open windows on the monorail mmmm!!!

Neat but close quarters!!!

Really wished I got to ride the monorail. Next time.

I miss the old 20,000 Leagues ride. :(

Anyway, it's nice to see bits of it still remain in DL. That really is an awfully tight space, though! :crowded:

Man it was tight- I really liked that I was the second to last one in. Being first may have needed some calming breathing techniques. :lmao:

No monorail ride? I'm not sure it officially counts as a Disney trip if there's no monorail ride. :rotfl2:

Yup - I just have to go back. :rotfl2: The whole it is a ride in the park then out of the park was odd. Made it a bit inconvenient to ride.

Wow. I cannot believe I was as far behind as I was. :worried: pathetic!

You are not alone- I am too - totally understand.

Seriously though...I am so confused as to what day, where I am, that I actually am hosting my dinner club tonight...and I thought it wasn't till next Monday! Talk about a scramble.

:scared: Yikes a big fear of mine- forgetting something like that. Hope all went well and I am sure you pulled it off.

LOVE the Lilly Belle, how neat is that! Darling pics with Pluto and tea time with Minnie. Something about toontown just makes me smile! But oh, 20,000 Leagues! How that takes me back. Cannot wait for April!!

You will have a blast, just a different experience that WDW.

Okay now after the fireworks you can make your way to Tom Sawyer Island to see Fantasmic.
Of Course EVERYONE is moving that way. This would be the second show of Fantasmic
Everyone crosses the bridge and stops they are holding everyone GOING to the show there so that everyone COMING from the show can EXIT. Can you say Bottle neck?

I would never expect Disney to have this problem but yet it happened here.
Finally you can walk ahead and in true human fashion everyone stops at the first viewing place they see instead of being urged to move all the way around the island.

There are about 10 rows sitting in front of the fence and then a rope. I end up dead center of the stage and right at the standing rope.
After I assume everyone is positioned to see the show the CM comes up and yells – everyone on this side of the rope is sitting and stay sitting and everyone behind this rope can stand and stay standing.
Then he drops the rope and the guy in front of me slightly to the right stands up .
Ropes up

I LOVE the fireworks at Disneyland. The main reason is because they play "Remember When" after the fireworks, and that song is my absolute favorite Disney song, hands down.

I like the environment better for Fantasmic there too. Just feeling closer to everything. But everything in Disneyland feels closer, doesn't it?

Here is more Fire- I tell you DL has a thing about fire. :lmao:

Now afterward there is the obvious crush of people. Park is not closed so I do what you need to do – run to the nearest attraction – BMTRR and the FP I had from earlier. ;)

Now the show it self is very similar, but a different venue- can't imagine trying to crowd around TSI for F! The whole way the show and the way you need to herd in and out to see it is the only turn off for me.
Makes those metal benches look pretty comfy now doesn't it?

Next time soon I hope, The DLR Halloween party

I do remember everything being very nostalgic and "Remember When" would fit right in with that. You have given me something to listen for now, since it was my first time there I wasn't listening for it.

For F! it does seem closer but that herding ( even F! at DHS has herding... OY ) just seemed to take a way a little bit for me. I was lucky I was right at the stand up rope. Being 5'2"being able see though a crowd instead of looking at everyone's backs is always a concern. :lmao:

Great Update !! Once again great Fantasmic Pix !!! Caol and I toyed with the idea of a Disneyland P &P trip, but Carol will not drive in LA and I think you do some driving !!!

Wonderful firework pictures, Pat

Wow...that sounds like a very dangerous bottleneck problem at Fantasmic.

You got some really awesome shots of the show. Great job. :thumbsup2

I was curious to know what you thought of Fantasmic. I have heard some say the one in California is better.

A friend of mine and her family went to Disneyland during fall break. She brought her pictures to school yesterday. She has five kids, and they really liked California Adventure.

I'm caught up Pat!

Toon Town looked like fun. My favorite picture was you having tea with Minnie. :)

Nemo -- my family took a big trip out West when I was about 5. One of the only things that I remember about Disneyland was those 20,000 Leagues submarines. I don't think they've changed in the 20 , okay 40+ years!

Your Tinker Blur at least looks a little bit like Tink. Mine, not so much!

It's rare, but I can believe that Disney would have a people-moving bottleneck problem, especially after "The Great Rope Fiasco".

Nice pictures of Fantasmic! Looked like you got a good spot.

Thanks Rosie.
I did no driving in CA. Not sure if I will try it next time. I guess it all depends on how long I can make that trip.

Thanks Kathy. It was very strange to be in that much traffic with people trying to outrun the CMs to get a head in the crowd. I was not fond of that, seemed more chaotic than it needed to be.

Overall you are closer but sitting on the ground or having to stand was a negative for me.

I thought it was pretty much the same show. Like I mentioned above sitting on the concrete or having to stand the whole time plus preshow was a negative for me.

CA was cool especially Radiator Springs. Kind of funny but CA is very eclectic, no real one theme to tie the place together.

I'm caught up Pat!

Hey Glenn :wave2:
Toontown was fun and DL gets the :thumbsup2 on that one.

Nemo was an experience.

Yeah I never seem to get Tink at WDW, I had some dumb luck at DL. ;)

Oh yes the great Rope incident- I guess it does happen. DL had its share of odd issues.

I lucked out with a front and center view even if I was standing at least everyone in front of me was sitting.... so a great view.;)

I can't imagine trying to squeeze onto Tom Sawyer's Island to watch a show. That sounds really weird. I guess with DL's limited space you do what you have to do.

However, if DL has a thing for fire, that can only be a good thing! :thumbsup2:cool1:

The show was on TSI but we all lined up on the main walk way. AT MK it might be like squeezing on the boardwalk section around the water there.
Next visit I need to make it ONTO TSI to checkout where they hide all fire... :scratchin
