Oh what a horrible trip!!!! Now for something completely different-Final blast ......

Gorgeous theming in New Orleans Square.

2 drops on POC? I wouldn't have expected that. I love the fact that there's a restaurant in there. That would be really cool, to get a table and enjoy the atmosphere inside.

I was so neat to experience it- now I want to go back and really enjoy it. I know that sounds funny but I don't feel like it all soaked in.

You really have to go back and try the Blue Bayou one time. It is spendy, but good, and it is so fun to sit and watch the boats float by - you can hear the music and crickets from the ride - it is just so cool. Ask to wait for a table near the water.

I love how from either vantage point, the boats or the tables, you are all part of each other's experience.

It was funny I did get excited at the Piranhas. Probably more than I should have but not embarrassingly so, :lmao:

What was also different was that the boat passes the back of the IJ queue. I bet if it was open there may have been a remark or two about that.

Jungle Cruise is fun if you have a good skipper. I think I would remember if this one was great but I don't think he was bad. My guess is a pretty average skipper with a couple of new jokes.

I remember when You just boarded yourself. Now they stand and pretty much help you in. Now the signs because someone still fell in. At some point people need to be able to follow directions

Yep, I was going to mention how cool it is that the jungle theme goes with both rides, and they back up to each other. The skippers will usually have the crew wave to those in line and say something about them being doomed, or natives or something.

Pat, I really am enjoying your view of DL - I tend to take it for granted sometimes, because I've been there so many times - I get the "not quite right" feeling at WDW :rotfl2: Fun updates!

IJ was closed.... I was bummed. All the more reason for a do -over, and hopefully I will get it next year.

That stinks. I'd love to see what the Indiana Jones ride is like. But at least Jungle Cruise was a nice diversion, right?

Sounds awesome to me! And I love Monte Cristo sandwiches.:thumbsup2

Pat getting caught up finally.

I have to say it is so refreshing to see some different things since I have never been to DL. So interesting to hear the differences from WDW.

Love the shopping pics & they seem to have lots of cute & different T shirts. That is my fav souvie & they have lots that I would buy.

Glad you are but sorry about the circumstance of why you are able to get all caught up.

How did you like the Matterhorn? It sounds interesting.

That's interesting about the handicap boarding on Space.

That bakery looks great!:thumbsup2

Love the different bathroom pics.:) Like the princess sign.

The Matterhorn is like a bobsled. Cool concept but not high on the comfort list. :lmao: Hard seat and all.

I had a field day with bathrooms and garbage cans. :rotfl2:

It's been so long since I've been there I've forgotten so much!! :upsidedow

Love the differences in the Jungle Cruise. :goodvibes I bet you loved seeing some different stuff than what you are use to.
I know just what you mean by going back to absorb everything, it usually takes me going a couple of times to really take it in. :)

It's probably why I have a hard time spending money on a deluxe hotel just yet, I'm still in the soaking it in phase when I go to WDW. Gettin there. :)

I think DVC made me relax. I KNOW I am going back. DL was new for me and I was back in commando mode looking and trying to catch it all not knowing when I would if ever be back.

Love the Jungle Cruise pics. Yes, that "Backside of water" was pretty sad. I love that part in the WDW one and I always try to get a pic.

The waterfall was weak but the Piranhas were neat. I spent some time doing same, same, same , ooooh different. :lmao:

Mermaids? Really? Guess I'm not too observant either :rotfl2:

ETA: Now that I think about it, I saw mermaid skeletons I think.

Yup Mermaid skeletons.

That's what makes it special from the boats or the tables you are immersed. :goodvibes

I have heard the skipper yells out to the IJ queue but with no one there .... I think we had a little dead air.. :lmao:

Yes it is a not quite right feeling. It looks the same but its not the same. :lmao:

i take it the jokes were just as good as in florida.:)

Jokes were pretty similar. I am sure the IJ queue would add to it.

That stinks. I'd love to see what the Indiana Jones ride is like. But at least Jungle Cruise was a nice diversion, right?
I hear the IJ ride is Dinosaur with an Indy theme. :lmao: I am very curious and am looking forward to going back.

Deep fried goodness. Now only to make sure they don't put mustard on that sandwich.

Just keeping up Pat !!! Between working a double and making Memory books , I have had a LONG day!!!!

I hear you Rosie. I was supposed to be off today but I ended up putting in a full day. Hoping for a bit of relief next week before I am out for my conference. Then a short time until Disney.

Lucky I know the routine because it is going to come up quick. :rotfl:

That's how I feel !!!Between now and then I have so much to do, my Disney planning is not going well, mainly because I basically know what to do and when , this weekend I will have to really start fine tuning my notes and plans and get the LV TR finished and move on to WDW!!!

Hope you can get some rest soon. I am going full speed these days, and I am definitely looking forward to a week's break in October. No Disney trip, but Bella is staying with me while Jill and Brooklynn go to WDW, so we'll make our own fun here. Sadly, I still will have to be doing some school work on break, since we have evaluations later in October. :headache:

Have a Wonderful Wednesday! Or a Wacky Wednesday, if you prefer. Mine will probably be more on the Wacky side. ;)

Finally taking that time.... sort of. Stuck at home while kitchen is getting worked. Have a meeting later that I have to get out for but catching up and doing. :laundy:

Then Oct Planning....

Getting rest today well kind of, catching up here at home since well, I haven't been here.
Conference next week in Florida, not close enough to visit WDW but I come home, have about a week and a half and then go relax with Food and Wine.
Full speed indeed but with a wacked out schedule, early mornings, late nights, piecing together half days and weekends. Allows me to be flexible but I have no idea if I am coming or going. :lmao:

Conference in Florida followed by F&W? Nice. Hope things aren't too hectic for you before you finally make it there. Still bummed our paths wo t cross this year!

Yeah I know.... :worried: Things can be hectic but in an odd way. Just mainly dealing with being in many places throughout the day. And making those trips efficient so I don't spend my day driving instead of doing.

Disneyland Railroad- Pretty much the same train but different park.

Fun update, Pat. Same train, but definitely different view. Weird how close TOT is.

I absolutely LOVE those pumpkin heads with the Goofy, Donald hats, etc. Those are great!

The sight lines were all wacked out. :lmao: I really lucked out being on the train attached to the Lilly Belle and that was neat to see.

I MAY have some pictures of the front of those special Halloween heads. We will have to wait to find out.

I had no idea that Walt had his own train car. That's pretty darn cool! Nice paparazzi pics of the decor!

Sounds awesome to me! And I love Monte Cristo sandwiches.:thumbsup2

My first Monte Cristo sandwich was right there at the Blue Bayou back in 1989. A bunch of us from my theater class (from the local community college in Irvine, CA.) decided we should skip classes one day and go to DL, it was so much fun! :goodvibes

Pat, Tammie and MEK, the mermaids are on either side of the boat right before getting to the mermaid skeleton, they show up as lights in the water with a little tail splash before they disappear, you have to really watch for them. I wish I could say I've seen, seen them, but I can't, Mackie is the only one of us who got a good look.

Looove the train!! I just love all the touches of Walt and his life, in DL. :cloud9:

How is the kitchen coming? You never did say what all you were having done to it, and we want pictures of the before and after! Or it didn't happen.

It was soooo lucky and pretty cool. I had heard that he had a car but never thought I would actually see it.

I may have to try one but doubt I can finish one. Of course I will have to ask about mustard...

I knew about the skeletons but didn't pay attention for lights the last time I went. Hmmm Something new to look for. :upsidedow

It was nice to see Walt's car. DL is so much about Walt and the history, such a different vibe than WDW I feel.

As for the kitchen..... slowly but surely. :) Don't want to jinx anything.
