oh to be on CC now...wind chill of -40 forcasted!

I know - some people think I should get a life...

One fun thing to do when it is really really cold outside is to lean out the door and blow bubbles. After the bubbles are blown get back in the house and then watch the bubbles through a window. The bubbles freeze quickly and then "shatter" like glass when they hit the ground.

We are having a mild winter here - which for me is still too cold. Hope you all are staying warm!

I think my lips would freeze if I did that tonight!!!:worried: Maybe I'll wait until spring!

I'm on Long Island. We closed schools yesterday because of the 5 inches of snow that fell. And now this morning they half the schools are closed on the island, including my son's because of the cold temperature.
This is totally unheard of here.:earseek:

Its all of 6 degrees outside with a windchill of -12. The news is saying that school districts are having trouble getting the busses started. That's why there is no school.

My son is happy.

Heading out to start the car, it was in the garage all night but since the standing temp right now is -10 and the wind chill is -27 I think it needs to heat up..:(
DH and DS are snug in bed.. I don't want to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was feeling sorry for us with -10 wind chills. Now it sounds downright balmy.

Time to start planning what we'll do on the August cruise.

We had no school yesterday because of the snow. Today DS had to be in school at 7:20 for choir practice. The temperature was 2 with a windchill of -11.:earseek:

I got in my car this morning and my thermometer read -7. It's the coldest day in over 25 years here in Boston. I am just thinking about getting on The Magic a week from tomorrow!

390 towns here in MA cancelled, and the ride on the "T" (the subway here in Boston) was HORRIFYING today, because many of the trains froze so they packed us in like sardines and then made us wait as they tried to get other trains out of the way...

Kids have a 4 day weekend now. Whoo....umm...hoo? *grin*

Heat at work here just off Boston Harbor in an old textile mill building can't keep up, so I'm defending my space heater with my life...and dreaming about my cruise in 15 days.. *sigh*

That's it. I'm going now.

Although it's not quite as cold as first predicted here (only -32:sunny: ) it was too much for my poor car. It's been a trooper all through the cold spells, but the battery light started flickering on the drive home last night, and despite a 20 minute warmup, it only lasted to the corner of my street this morning!

DH tried boosting, but it wouldn't hold. I'm now back in my house with the car plugged into the battery charger and "working" from home!

I guess this is now a long weekend:wave:

It is so cold here and all I wanted was to be warm this morning. I figured if I couldn't be on CC or the magic I might as well warm myself up with the sweatshirt I bought while on board. It's fuzzy warm and it's reminding me of the great time I had!

Stay warm!

Cindy

I'm all huddled in my sweats this morning since the school I teach in was one of the many called off. To make matters worse we're having heating issues on the first floor of the house- mighty chilly let me tell you. I took out my scrapbook of last August's cruise to help me think warm thoughts. It's not working!

Upstate New York can be quite brutal too, wish we were on the Disney ship right about now. Can't wait to go again, everyone going soon, have a fun time and enjoy the sunshine!!!:sunny:

-7 this morning here in northeast Connecticut! I don't want to even try to figure the wind chill. Stay warm all, dream of cruising.

Oh thanks Mike2beach, I can only dream. This weather does a number on my asthma - I have 2 books at the library I need to pick up and for me to think - hmmm do I really need them - that means it's pretty bad out there. But there is a break coming I saw 21 degrees somewhere - imagine that - a heatwave in MA!
