Sunday, September 14th

I got up at about 4:30 am dressed and was out the door to head to my house. My older sister D was coming in for visit and later in the afternoon so I wanted to get back.

When I travel to my house I drive the I4 for just a couple miles and then on the 528 East to the 521 to 95. 95 is even busy early in the morning.

I was a little late getting back to Portofino. My sisters were down for movie night in the lounge.

I met them in the lounge.

The movie night is held in the part of the lounge that used to be a large open bar area. It is a beautiful space.

As soon as I walked in a nice young man who works in the Club Lounge named Harvey approached me and asked if I wanted a soda and some popcorn or a bag of various chips. I took him up on that and he quickly returned with my drink and a bag of chips. Harvey looked after everyone in the lounge making sure your drink was full and you had plenty of snacks.

My sisters were watching the Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein movie.

There were only about 6 of us watching the movie. We enjoyed hanging out in the lounge and I had forgotten how funny this movie was. I had watched it when I was a little one many moons ago.

When the movie was over we all headed to the room.

I showered and it was time for bed.

Just like sisters do we talked and talked and laughed about things we had done when we were little.

I was out like light before long or so they say……

Monday, September 15th


I got up early and decided I wanted to get out for some exercise and a walk in the park while my sisters were still resting.

So off I went to the Studios.

I caught the boat over to CityWalk and before long I was in the studios.

I had not looked into the Today Cafe. In years pass they had a lot of nice Halloween desserts on display.




This year they only had a couple of desserts for Halloween for sale.








I have stopped in here for a quick lunch during previous Unmasking the Horror Tours and the food can be hit or miss.

After I had a look in the Today Cafe I walked along and saw Scooby and the Gang out for pictures.


Then it was onto the Five and Dime to see if they had gotten anymore Hami-Kuma merch in.

I love this Creature from the Black Lagoon display.



I walked along the hallway that you exit after the Monster Make-up show. I had never really looked at the posters that line the walls.






As I left the store I saw the lovely Marilyn Monroe. She was so sweet to strike a movie star pose for my pictures of her.




It was time to head out of the park and back to the resort as my sisters were ready to get going for the day.

This had been a nice little morning hike.

Monday, September 15th continued




I stopped to take a couple of photos of the Glinda and Elphaba.




I stopped for a photo of the workers taking down a section of RRR coaster.





I caught the water taxi back to Portofino and was back to the resort in no time.


My sisters were ready to go to CityWalk.

So we went to the water taxi and off we went.

We stopped in for a look around the Big Universal Store. Then it was time to think about lunch.

We decided on CowFish as my sisters like the Crab Rangoon Dip there.

We walked up and were able to get in right away.

It was nice that it was not busy. I like that they carry the fish design through in the dining area with the huge fish scale lights.


We decided to just gets some apps and share those for lunch.

We ordered the Carb Rangoon dip, Calamari, and a sushi roll. We all also ordered the Bloody Mary drinks.




I did not get a photo of the sushi roll we ordered.

The Bloody Mary’s came with a small burger which you get in the Bento boxes, Celery, Tomato, Orkra, pickle spear, Olives and a sausage stick.

I told them to go easy on the Tabasco sauce on my drink.




The drinks were ok. The sausage stick that was in the drink had no taste and was not good. I call all the other things that were on the drink cocktail dressing.

We enjoyed are apps and most of all visiting with one another.

We decided after lunch to walk over and see the new Downton Abby movie.

No it sure how to feel about the movie……It left you wanting more of something. It felt for sure like you were saying goodbye to all the characters. All good things have to come to an end….not sure they did it up right for this one.

K was not feeling well and left pretty quickly after the movie was over. She headed back to the resort to rest.

D and I stopped in the bathroom then headed for the water taxi to Portofino.


My sister and I stopped for some photos.




We then stopped into the Club lounge for a soda and sat down for a visit.

It was nice to be back in the AC….It was pretty warm out again today.

I’am not sure about the other Club Lounges at the other resorts that have Club Lounge, but here at Portofino they have lunch meat, cheese, peanut butter and jelly etc….to make sandwiches if you want.

There is also Crudité and dip, fruit, chips and a hot option be it pretzels with whole grain mustard or bread sticks with marinara.


There were chips and salsa behind the cheese plate on the other side.

There were also pastries and cookies out.




You really could pull together a nice lunch here in the afternoon. I saw many folks coming in while we were enjoying our drinks and making sandwich plates etc..


I called up to ask K if she wanted something from the Club Lounge and she just wanted us to bring her up a couple of drinks from the ice box and a glass of ice.

We went back up to the room about 4 pm and K was still resting.

I took a shower and got into some comfy clothes and we all enjoyed having some more sister time.

It just seemed like time was passing so fast now.

K was still not feeling well enough to go down for dinner this evening. We asked if she wanted some soup brought up to her and she didn’t. Just some more soda.

D and I went down for a light supper of salads.

We ran into the lovely Ashlee, Jaleen and Harvey (who had been on staff for the movie night last night). They are the nicest Club lounge staff.

After dinner my sister D called K to see if she had changed her mine on us bringing her some food back to the room and she still only wanted some ice and a couple cold drinks so we got those and went back to the room.

We enjoyed talking some more and before long it was 8 pm and time for our sister D to leave. Her grandson was picking her up this evening after he got off work. He only works about 3 miles from Portofino.

We said our goodbyes.

We had a nice time visiting and it is always so good for us three sisters to have time together. I keep saying that as we get older these times of togetherness are more and more valuable to us.

I got ready for bed and called my hubby to catch him up on the days events.

K was feeling a little better and was watching TV.

Before long I was off to sleep.

Tuesday, September 16th


I got up a little later this morning. I think this vacation lazy sleeping thing was kicking in finally.

My sister K was feeling better this morning so we went down for a light breakfast and decided to go over to the studios this morning.

After breakfast we caught the Water Taxi over to CityWalk. It was not busy at all this morning.



We popped in the Universal Store inside the park and there was some new merchandise. They had added these plush FNA characters.






These new Slytherin cups were beautiful and I went looking to see if they had them In Gryffindor and they did not.


For the Slytherin fans there was a new ladies dress blouse with Death Eaters on the collar.


After pursuing the shop for new merchandise we decided to head into the Minion ride which was basically a walk on.

lol reminds me of a labubu

Yes, they kinda of do, but way more creepy and 3 dimensional. It is funny how things catch on.

I was in TJ Maxx yesterday and I saw a bunch of purses that now come with various character plush animals on them already.

Tuesday, September 16th continued




After we were done riding Minions we exited and Edith was out for photos.



After we exited the gift shop we crossed the street and Vector was out for photos.




I decided to ride Villain-Con as when we walked by there was no line at all. My sister wanted to walk through The Wicked Experience. I have been through it a number of times so we decided to meet up outside of Wicked.


As we were walking the Parade was passing by.


When I entered Villain=Con the first time there was only two other people and myself. Then I ran through it two more times and I was the only person there. Talk about a surprise.


After I was done I walked down the street to head to Wicked. This is without a doubt the cutest Minion sign ever.


I didn’t see my sister K so I did a quick walk through Wicked.




I found her outside near the exit.

The Bourne Show was in 15 minutes so we decided to go in for the show.



Afterwards we stopped in the Five And Dime. It is interesting that even during the time we have been here on vacation there has been a significant addition of HHN merchandise which is being continually added everyday. I had not noticed this in the past years.

I looked at the Hami-Kumi merchandise.


I had already bought this pins.


I have this popcorn bucket already and they have plenty of them available.


These little corn purses area cute. I bought a couple already.


These Head bands have been available since the merch has shown up.



As have these hats.


These long sleeved shirts have also been available. I did buy one of these. This is the front.

We finally found the Artist Series Merchandise on this visit. They had the Cups, Posters and shirts.

I have to admit I did not like this Artist Series as well as I did the Frankenstein series in 2021.


If you like the Artist Series keep your eyes open around the Five and Dime and other areas of the Park. They do have a pop up sometimes of the Artists that contributed to the design of the Series on hand to meet and greet. They will sign your Artist Series Merchandise.

This happened during my HHN trip in 2021 and the Artists were so kind and they each signed the portion of the Frankenstein design they had contributed too. I had the poster framed and my niece B has it hanging in her townhouse.



Here is the display of the Artist on hand that day. They were all so nice.
