Is my contract stuck in limbo?

Why do you assume that daily mousekeeping would double our housekeeping dues? Does DVC pay a flat rate to housekeeping cast every time they clean a DVC villa? Or do they simply pay the salaries of housekeeping cast? If they pay the salaries, the only way it would double our housekeeping dues is if daily housekeeping would force resorts to double their housekeeping cast.

We hire Disney to provide property management and they determine the cost based on what we want.

So, when we get billed, it’s based on the number of housekeeping needed to do the job.

They thing is that could happen is that not only would we need to pay more but they could decide that check in time moves from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm along with increasing costs.

If Disney doubled the cost for housekeeping because they said it would now take that to clean daily, we’d be stuck with that.

I personally don’t want daily housekeeping so I hope that there are enough owners out there who feel the same and would not push DVC to make that change!

Housekeeping is the single-largest charge in the cost components...

As I have come to use DVC as a product, I actually prefer the lack of daily housekeeping (it was something I thought I wouldn't want) - especially in the large villas. I'd be happy if they came in every day and made my bed, but that's really about it...

I do wish they would collect more in dues to replace and/or repair the furniture between refurbishments. I'd be willing to pay more for that.

I can't remember - do all resorts currently offer housekeeping for a fee? I seem to recall that that is sometimes available and sometimes not. That seems to me like a much more sensible solution than increasing the frequency of housekeeping across the board. I'd be willing to pay for a full cleaning once or twice during a weeklong stay if it were priced appropriately - maybe $25/cleaning for a studio and then add $10/cleaning for a 1 BR, $20/cleaning for a 2 BR and so on.
