Well, not quite. It's NOVEMBER SWEEPS soon and I just found out that while we are going to be watching Illuminations, we will be missing a very important episode of Lost.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can watch it without having to wait until we get home? There are supposed to be big secrets revealed in the episode, and I don't think we can wait long! Now I seriously doubt that we'll be catching Lost at Epcot (although ABC is a Disney company, or vice versa- not sure) but if anyone has any ideas for us... Are there recording VCR's in the rooms? Can we rent a VCR from VWL?

Are there any other LOST fans who will be in the world during November sweeps? Any ideas on how I can get my fix before the week is out?

Thanks

Shel

(BTW mods, I just realized this probably isn't the right board for this, so feel free to move to the right spot. Thanks!)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I was the same way last year. We missed a very important episode of Nip/Tuck while on vacation. This is the ONLY show I watch religiously. I had to call my best friend and get a play by play of what happened and that still wasn't enough for me.

I think your easiest bet would be to have someone record it for you at home. If that's not possible, you could always download through Itunes when you get home (all Lost episodes are available on there, and as far as I know -- I could be wrong, though -- you can watch it on your computer, even if you don't have an iPod). At the BWV, there is a VCR that I've recorded the Disney channels off of. That being said, it's an incredibly basic VCR and I have no idea if it's got timer control. Also, VWL may only have DVD players...I'm not sure.

Good luck! I'm addicted to this show, too!

You could get a Dish or Direct TV then carry it into the park with a little TV. Find somewhere that had power and a nice line-of-sight to the satellite and sit back and enjoy the show with a few others who also don't want to miss it. :teeth:

Disney would probably be able to rent you a VCR but I would guess that the rates would be high enough you could go to Walmart and buy one and leave it afterwards if you didn't want it.

Or you could wait for someone to post the entire episode on one of the internet sites and read what happens.

I, too, am a Lost addict! Sawyer fan here! Although we are going to be there a week after the big reveal, I am still plotting how to get back to the room in time to watch it. Fantasmic starts at 7:00.....Lost at 9:00. Think we'll get there? Staying at All Star Movies.

Or maybe I am just alone in the tv world? :rotfl:

I have Lost set to record each week, and it's great! I usually repeat watch 2 or 3 times just to see what cues I missed. Also, there is a great TV community on the TIVO Community Forum that discusses each show in detail.

(For those who don't know what a TIVO is - it's a digital video recorder with a subscription service. Yes, Comcast Cable has its own version, but TIVO is much easier to use. Bye bye VCR.)

I think the idea of buying a cheapie VCR is great. We'd tape it at home, but I don't want to wait that long because I don't want to hear the scoop from everyone else! So we'll tape it in the villa and watch it as soon as the kids are asleep.

This is going to be the best trip ever.

Thanks for the advice!

You can download episodes of Lost from the iTunes store for $1.99 each. (http://www.itunes.com) I don't follow this program but I note there are currently 5 episodes of season 2 available, so that should give you some idea how current they are.

Another vote for TiVo. It's television the way it should be.

Could you bring your VCR to Disney with you and hook it up to your TV in your room? That way you could set it to record before you leave for the park and then watch it when you get home from Illuminations?

Another TIVO fan here! I can't remember life without it. I'll be missing Lost, House, Survivor, The OC, and Numbers. Guess I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I get home!! :flower:

When is the this important episode you are talking about going to air?

I am a LOST fan too! And will be at disney in Nov. too!
I was so upset when i found out that it would be reruns for 2 weeks and then back to some good stuff while we are gone! I will miss 2 episodes of it as we will be driving to the airport the 9th which is when it comes back from reruns and then we will be at EMH at MK the following week! I will be taping it at home and then just watch it when i get back. As much as I am bummed about missing it right now I know that once I am at disney I won't be upset to be missing it!

I will be going to super soap too and missing my soap for 7 days of Nov. sweeps while gone! I will set my vcr to tape 6 days worth since my tape only goes to 6 hours. Then once I am home I can fast forward through it while doing all that laundry!!

Missing desperate housewives too but it hasn't been that great lately!

Starting Nov. 9th, the next 4 episodes are big. At least two of them will be, the one on Nov. 9th has a big event, and the one on Nov. 30 has a big event. The ones in between have to do with the other survivors.

I'm really excited!

We're going to get a cheapie VCR and tape it while there. Unless I can pay a CM to do it for me. ;)

I just realized that I'll miss TWO episodes of LOST! :scared: We are driving to Indianapolis on the 23rd to do a park and fly. Maybe I can get DH to go down to the pool with DD for an hour . . . I'll have to be creative about the 30th, maybe try for an early bed night that night . . . We do have MVMCP the next night - - I can just reason with DD that she needs to catch some extra sleep before being up so late the next night!

Where are you guys reading about the upcoming episodes?

Yes, I pretty much had a rant at the t.v. when they announced that the next episode wouldn't be until Nov. 9th! "How can they do that to me?? We'll be in Disney World then!!"

My co-worker is being nice enough to tape it for me but between Lost, Survivor, and Arrested Development (I HOPE! AD hasn't been on for the past few weeks!) I'm going to have a whole lot of catching up to do!

Anyone ever checked out the Lost message boards at the abc website? So many theories abound, it makes my head hurt to try and sort it all out!

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

Tivo!!!!! Once you get it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

'Nuff said.

Thanks for the Tivo recommendations, but I'm trying to figure out how I can watch it before I get back. :) I'm too impatient to wait a week. :) We'll just buy the cheap VCR and tape it and watch it when we get back to the room.

When the first survivor came out I was at MK the day the revealed that Richard Hatch had won. I ended up calling my mother right after it aired to find out. If you have a cell phone and a friend who watches it I would say call them right after the show and ask them what happened but also have it taped so when you get home you can watch it. You are on vacation and you shouldn't worry about it. They way they do Lost anyway, they probably won't reveal anything since they haven't revealed anything yet. I am getting disgusted with the show. They are going to kill someone off and it probably will be sawyer or hurley because they are the best characters on the show.

Uhh, it's just a TV show. Watch it in reruns. :teeth:

It could be months before it reruns, and there are a lot of hidden clues in each show, so waiting for a rerun would detract from subsequent episodes.

There are some who would say it's just a theme park...we all have our own little obsessions. I only watch one tv show, otherwise it's books for me. Why deny me my little guilty pleasure? ;)
