My first Disney trip in 13 years is coming up this July, with my DH and DD7. It's all I think about night and day, especially since it will be my DD's first time to Disney - I am LIVING for the moment she sets her little eyes on Cinderella's castle for the very first time....

My problem is, I will be SOBBING so hard I'm afraid I'll miss it!! Tears of JOY, of course!

I don't know if I'm getting overly sentimental, or are there many of you out there that get weepy at the very THOUGHT of anything Disney??? I cry at weddings, sappy movies, etc.... but NOTHING on this earth gets to me like Disney does - the movies, the music, the magic!! I even get choked up reading some of the wonderful posts many of you put up - especially about the disney magic and pixie dust!

Is there any hope for me??

Sounds like you have a good heart! Nothing wrong with that!

Awwwww, kraznut, that was so neat to read. What nice words. It can certainly be emotional, Disney seems to do that for many of us, and many others 'don't get it'. Luckily, we do, LOL. Enjoy that special moment, and all the other special moments of your upcoming trip, kraznut, with your hubby and little girl, magical it will be in so many ways. princess: I recall the first time I ever heard the term 'pixie dust' (if you care to read about it, click on the first clickable in my spinner clip, bottom left), I had tears too. Still get them at times, and sometimes here. :)

Welcome to the DIS, enjoy the planning and anticipation, only a few weeks to go now. Stop by often, kraznut, we loving sharing with other 'nuts' like us. :wave2:

I get teary eyed when I walk into the Magic Kingdom because it always brings back fun memories and on the day we are leaving cause I hate to go!!!.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Join me in. I know that feeling! It had been 8 years since I had been to WDW and this last February we went back. I didn't know how I'd react since it had been so long and I was a fair bit younger back then. I practically started crying just seein the castle from far, it was SO beautiful! Have a wonderful trip, I'm sure it'll be a magical trip for you all.

I got teary and DH got teasy- the whole rest of the time!!! He is already making fun of me now and we have not left yet!

OK oK I did the same thing!!!! Esp when my dd's eyes lit up when she saw "wishes" fireworks. So no, there is no hope for you!! hehe Enjoy the moment. Remember, firsts only come around one time!!

I got teary eyed just reading your post! Please post a trip report so we can read about all the times you got weepy on the trip!! :p

tricia.

No hope!! But tears of joy are always great!! I should meet up with microcell, sounds like my DH and hers would get along great...he LOVES to tease!!

Last trip sitting inside mickeys philharmagic watching my kids fascination and then them reaching out to "touch" the movie...got me teary eyed! That is the one attraction I am sure going to miss at DisneyLAND this summer!!
Have a great trip!!!

Disney are the masters at pushing those buttons:D

My dd6 has been to WDW several times and we are planning to go this weekend. Recently she said "I love Disney World!". When I asked her why, she said "Because it's so magical!" :D

There is no hope....
When we took Sam for the first time he was 3 1/2. We walked under the train trestle and he let out a screech 'Mama, we're here, we're at Disney World'. I still cry when I replay that sentence in my head. I clearly hear it whenever I see the castle.
I also got teary when he met Mickey for the first time, when he hugged Minnie, when he played fetch with Pluto, and on and on. To see WDW through the eyes of a child is the most amazing thing.

Thanks so much everyone, I feel sooo much better now! I got weepy reading about all your experiences!

Now I think I'm beginning to understand why Disney affects us all so much - really, where else in this crazy world can you experience such good clean fun, and more than that....

It's the kind of joy we all felt when we were small children, at the holidays, at birthday parties, etc.

And I realize we never really forget that innocent happiness, that PURE JOY - and it feels so wonderful to be able to experience that again, even for a little while!

To see WDW through the eyes of a child is the most amazing thing

You hit it right on the head, BethanyF!!!!! That's why Disney is so wonderful! Not only am I totally excited to be giving a little of that happiness to my sweet little daughter, but ALSO...

I GET TO FEEL THAT WAY AGAIN TOO!!!! :Pinkbounc

Now I REALLY can't wait to get there - and I'm gonna CRY MY EYES OUT - but I'll be laughing just as hard!!!:jumping1:

YEP..I am right there with ya......just cant help it,,,get all excited at just the thought of going,,,,I use to go 3-4 times a year,,I have since moved to within 45 mins of Disney World, and go at least 1 day a week,,but most weeks I get two days in,,,,and I am STILL waiting to get TIRED of it,,,,I don't cry (as much) now when we have to leave LOL.. I know I will be back in a few days, if only for a few hours, or lunch (those annual passes help)...HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! and do not worry about those tears..TEARS of JOY are always a GOOD thing!!!

Afraid there is no hope for you. I feel the same way when I go to Disney World AND I WORK THERE!

If you plan to video your trip, would be glad to come over and capture that magical moment for you so you would all be on the tape together.

Regardless, have a wonderful time. :happy2:

Don't worry, Kraznut. I know how you feel! Heck I'm getting teary eyed thinking I get to take my 23 year son down there for his graduation in June!! It's been so-o-o long since we've been able to include him on "family" trips because he has always been so busy with basketball.:happy2:

Bring some kleenex..I'd be right there with you! I still feel that way about WDW! (I'm 41, hopefully, I will always feel this way).
lisa:wave2:

When we go to WDW I get misty eyed so many times. When my DD gets this smile on her face where she is smiling with her whole face - from ear to ear - that makes me want to cry. Heck....last trip I finally got to meet Snow White for the first time siince I have been going in 1976 and I did cry. She is my favorite and to see her was a dream come true for me.

I am a happy cryer more than a sad cryer. You will see my crying more when my DD does a great cartwheel at gymnastics before you will see me crying at a funeral - what can I say - I'm weird!!
