Okay, now I am thinking of booking a solo trip to take advantage of free dining. Am I being absolutely rediculous since I have a family trip (5 of us going) in Mid August? It would be better if I could find a single friend to go with me. That would make it awesome as we could split the hotel bill, but dang. I want to book it now to reserve my room. LOL. . .

What is a Disney freak to do.

book it! You'll have until mid/late July to find a friend to go with! If not, just cancel and get a full refund!!

good for you!!! You can always tell the person you are trying to convince... to go halfsies on the room and you'll pick up the tab on ALL the food LOL!:rolleyes1

I'm actually very excited. I booked AKL savannah view and am so excited I could dance. I can't believe I will be going two times in less than 2 months.

Please consider that you may need to add someone else to the reservation in order for them to get free dining and this might have to be done by the end of the promotion so that they get it.

Maybe you can call to make sure but just throwing it out there so you know how long you have to find someone (I believe promotion ends june 24th):goodvibes I have seen people on the Dis say they had trouble adding people after the they booked the bounce back promo...dont know if it is the same though:confused3

Wish I could go with you.....:upsidedow

I am in the same boat as you! Year before last, me and my mom went with free dining and had a great time. We wanted to go this year, but she can't. DH says "find someone else to go with" (he is not a fan of Disney and we just got back from DLR, so he won't go). I can't find anyone to go with. Most people I talk to can't afford it, or just aren't interested. :confused3 Go figure. I don't want to go alone, because I really don't want to eat at a TS place by myself, and the free food is the main reason for the trip! If I ever did a solo trip, I would just eat at CS. So, I feel for you, but you are more gutsy than me, you went ahead and booked!!! I hope you find someone to go with! Have a great trip!!:hippie:

Wow, I really cannot believe that some people have trouble traveling solo. I have been all over the world solo. Doesn't even phase me. My only hesitation with WDW was I thought it might be selfish for me to take up room space that a family could use during free dining. . .lol.

Sorry, but I love traveling solo. I get to do what I want when I want and don't have to adhere to anyone's schedule. Besides I meet the most fascinating people on my vacations.

shoot, I'd meet you and go!! I even have Southwest Credits to cover my own flight, and an annual pass!!!!!!! But who would get my kids off to school each morning? Dh is a teacher, and can't/won't take off work during school year -- why did I marry a teacher?!

I am usually the one searching for a friend to travel with me. I like playing around the parks alone just fine, but hate paying the whole hotel bill alone. HAHA!

I just did four quick days in march. DW was with her choirs most of the time so I had lots of time on my own to take pictures. We met up for dinners and a lunch and spent most evenings together.

Even if you can not get a roommate the solo trip is something that should be on most peoples checklist of disney activities completed.

LOL. . .get the DH to shuttle the kids and get your *** in gear (that is weight loss surgery talk for the rear end. . .lol). I'd gladly take on a travel buddy. . .just remember you would have to buy a one day base ticket to get the free dining even with an annual pass.

Truly I guess it doesn't phase me much because I have been to Europe, South America and Australia alone. I love traveling solo and I get the best information from the locals that way. Not that I mind traveling with people - its just that solo I do my own thing, unrushed and unhurried by time.

I would love to make a solo trip, but not with free dining... if I were on a solo trip, I would probably eat at all CS places, and sit otside and people watch. I would not like eating alone at a TS place, but that is becaose at a nice place, indoors, I like to have a conversation during a meal. But, that is just me!

the reviews on tripadvisor.com are not that great, who just went and can give me an honest review?

how was the transportation?
clean?
pools big or small?
anyone rent a car to avoid bus transportation? I am seriously thinking of Enterprise delivering a car to me for a couple days, anythoughts? I hate waiting for buses

Can't help you there as I have never been to CBR, or WDW for that matter. . .

Good luck to you finding your information.

I go on solo trips all the time to Disney, and I have found that the TS restaurants are just fine alone. I usually get a lot more CM interaction than I would if I were with others. Then there's the people watching to do. So many people are there either attending conventions, or they are with someone who's at a convention, so no one gives a solo diner a second look. I actually prefer dining solo in TS, because usually the CS are so busy that I feel guilty taking up a table alone. The only problem with solo trips is when it comes time to pay the bill.
