I behaved all week and did really well until I went to work this morning.............

From May 28th -June 15 there is a birthday at work EVERY day and everyone gets a cake on their day........I've stayed away the whole week..except today

My coworker cut me a little piece of the cake today and put it on my desk ***and I just couldnt turn this one down.......I wont say what kind cuz I wont temp anyone out there but I ate it and now I really feel like "YUK" about it.........will only eat meat now for the rest of the day as my "carb" are shot right out the window.........

And the Worst part is....when I go to work on Monday it is my turn for cake and I can't be rude and not have a piece of my own cake......Can I?

HELP ME? Tell me that its really not going to mess me up or should I start all over again.....

Thanks,
Tammie:confused:

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it...only because we ALL have days like these...Just finish the rest of the day eating right and start over fresh in the morning! :) Trust me, we have all been there and have had the same thoughts!

Don't worry about it...You will be fine and tomorrow is another day for a clean slate! :)

Hey Lady - you were suppose to wait till your birthday on Mon to have a piece of cake. You already told me it's someones birthday every day in June so the cake will be there every day.
I am definately taking your butt around the gerbil track when I get home from work!

(ok now that you had the mom sermon, I'll be a friend and tell you that you will be joining me for a social walk after work)

so what kind was it?

how many carbs? - just watch what you eat for the rest of the day
Now that I just checked fitday.com - how was the cake?
And now you know to watch the rest of your diet on Mon (unless its an off day since it will be
YOUR BIRTHDAY !!

First Happy Birthday to you on Monday.

Secondly don't feel bad that you had a piece of cake. You just will have to walk off those extra calories you ate. On Monday I would have a small piece of the cake and then the rest of the time I would politely refuse the cake, they have to be understanding. ;)

Don't beatyourself up over this one. Just remember how the "YUK" feels when you're tempted again. For your birthday, how about something different like, oh heck, I don't know what you would substitute. Carbolite bars for everyone? "Maybe just a small piece," always works for me. Have a bite, feel the YUK, smile, discretely dump the rest in the trash and give yourself a big ATTAGIRL! You'll be fine!

Keep the Faith!

Good idea - I was going to suggest those Atkins bars for when the others have their birthday cakes. Its easier to say no if you have a treat ready for yourself.

A cake every day in June???

I have to tell you, the company that I worked for used to do this and it DROVE ME NUTS! So I went to the manager and told her in the interest of the company's budget and waistlines, I thought perhaps we should have ONE cake per month and celebrate EVERYONE's birthday for the month on the first day of that month.

Thankfully it went over well and people really enjoyed SHARING their birthdays rather than being singled out. The company has since grown and somewhere along the way the practice stopped altogether. (thank goodness).

Tammie you have my sympathies. But if you can't change the policy do the best that you can.

And by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONDAY!!!!

I read your post, and I am looking at it like this: you DIDN'T eat cake 4 out of 5 days! I think that is terrific, because think of how you'd be feeling if you had eaten cake every day this week! A small piece isn't the end of the world. Also, Monday is your birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So, you need to plan ahead and decide what you are going to do on Monday. Are you going to eat cake, or aren't you? It is all up to you, and you can decide. When you make a decision, even if it means having a piece, you should feel good about your decision. If you plan for cake, you can make a plan for how you will eat the rest of the day taking it into consideration.

How about a walk during lunch or after work to try and kill some of those extra calories!!!:teeth:

You are all absolutely right .........it was just a slip and I did have it only 1 out of 5............thats not too bad............And I will think real hard about whether I want that piece on monday...........and if I do maybe I will have a bite or two and secretly dump it...and just get back on track............

Thanks to everone who responded to this post and We all have to keep up the good work................
